Question

New at figma and UI/UX

Katie21

Hello, I am having issues with Figma, simple issues, but google seems to be failing me (probably just user error) I am working on text in Figma trying to make it bold and the category isn’t offering anything other than ‘regular’ and ‘italics’, if someone can explain to me what I am missing, or how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it.

What font is it?

If available, you’ll need to download and install the ‘bold’ version as different fonts have different weights available. It’s best not to think of italics and bold as toggleable options, but different fonts within a set.

If you can post the file here or post a share link to it, we can check it out.

Maybe the font does not HAVE those styles in the font itself? Figma is finicky about that and if it doesn’t exist, it won’t give you the option. Like Microsoft will fake that for you. But not Figma.

You sound like you are gonna need a real heavy tutrorial to get started.

Google is not ideal here, but Figma Learn is really good if you go through the get started part and watch all the videos that they have. And this forum has a lot of talented people who like to help…so post away! But also search first because we have all likely had the same challenge and asked the same question here.

And YouTube is helpful. A lot of folks like to post videos of how they did cool stuff.

You are not alone.
