As above, doesn’t seem to be a clear and obvious solution in the Figma UI
Hey @Olly_the_Designer ,
In order to change your keyboard shorcut, you can:
- Click in ‘?’ icon in the bottom-right and select Keyboard shortcuts
- Select the Layout tab.
- Use the dropdown to update your layout
- or, use the keyboard shortcut:
- Mac: ⌃ ControlShift?
- Windows: CtrlShift?
I hope this helps!
Thank you, but I want to utilise my additional function keys to more easily perform functions.
For example, instead of pressing Ctrl+Alt+K to make a component, I want to press my G1 button on my keyboard.
Thanks
Hi there! Unfortunately, it’s not possible to customize your shortcuts. Still, others in the community also requested it. Feel free to vote and share your interest here:
Our team monitors it. Thank you!
When will this fundamental aspect be added? It can be done on other design platforms, and many of the shortcuts are not memorable and do not contribute to an enhanced workflow.
Accessibility is something that is regulated, so I don’t think ‘voting’ for it is necessary when it should be something that is focussed on. I find the current approach quite discriminating.
I can’t believe Figma doesn’t have customizable keyboard shortcuts—it’s like a bad joke, considering it’s one of the most widely used programs for graphic design.
I would also love the ability to modify the keybinds!
Ideally, I could even set up multiple keys to trigger the same thing. Mainly, I want to chang ‘R’ to trigger the text tool instead of rectangle since I hit ‘R’ by mistake a lot when working quickly, but I still want ‘T’ to trigger text tool as well. Since I can always add rectangle from the menu, I’m not losing anything.
