Question

Figma Server error 403

Hi,

I logged on to my desktop app this morning to find 3 files displaying the same server error message.

figma error

I have cleared desktop cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop app, checked deleted items (by me and anyone else) and ofcourse restarted my computer, but have had no success.

When I hover it says the file was edited yesterday, and I was not in the office, so have contacted my team to see if anyone has accidentally archived/deleted the file.

Can anyone help further? Just waiting on response from Figma support.

Hi Hannah, so sorry for the trouble and delayed reply!

This was caused by a service disruption earlier this week: https://status.figma.com/incidents/k2rgjh56bddy

Please do let us know if you run into any further issues!

@dvaliao I have had this same issue today. I am under deadline, I have to get these revisions finished and to the client and my file has completely disappeared now after restarting Figma. It’s not in my drafts/deleted files. I’ve emailed support but no answer yet!! I’m freaking out.

@Hannah_McQuitty did you get a solve for this? I’ve got a ticket in but ZERO response. How did you fix it?

Hey @Kent_Milton, sorry for the trouble!

As mentioned in my reply above, Hannah’s server error was due to a service disruption on September 25th.

Is this happening both in browser and using the desktop app? Have you tried clearing your browser/desktop app’s cache?

Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on a Mac:

  1. Quit the Figma desktop app
  2. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/”{Desktop,DesktopProfile}
  3. Try opening the desktop app again

Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on Windows:

  1. Close the Figma desktop app
  2. Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter: %APPDATA%\Figma
  3. In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders if they exist
  4. Launch the desktop app again

I tried those already but they didn’t work.

Currently having that same problem, what do i do??

Hey All, support was able to solve Kent’s issue.

If there are no active service disruptions, the solution usually varies on a case by case basis.

If you haven’t yet, please reach out to the support team directly via this form for help: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

@dvaliao I have this problem with a file as well. I just cleared my cache and now I cannot see even the history of this file 😦 luckily I took a screenshot, this is the only proof this file exists. Is there anything else I can do to recover this file? It literally just disappeared from my Figma, I put a ton of work into this.

Be sure to use your Figma account email, include a link to the file that you’re receiving this server error, so they can take a closer look on the backend.

@dvaliao I am having this issue. I put a ticket into support. I’m really worried, I did so much work on this file.
