I’m experiencing lag in Figma when working with components. Despite restarting my PC, I still encounter delays, especially when editing or creating variants within components. I’ve checked my file and computer RAM usage, which appear normal. Has anyone else faced similar issues? Any advice or insights would be appreciated!

Thanks for reaching out. Do you know if this happens only to you in the same file or everybody in the same file? If it happens to you, could you try the troubleshooting below?
- Close any Figma tabs you’re not using
- Browser : Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
- Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it. If the issue persists, try clearing the cache.

Hi Toku,
I’ve discovered that the issue occurs exclusively with my current working file. I resolved it by removing one of the initial screens containing over 50 components. This screen was at the start of the prototyping process. Ultimately, there was no longer any lag when editing component variants or during prototyping.
