Benefit of ownership transfer prior to owner account's deactivation

Hello,

We have a professional plan. As we know, many designers will left many design files in Figma. It’s very handful if they need to transfer the ownership one-by-one when the designer left the company.

May I ask anyone in here, what is the benefit of ownership transfer prior to owner account’s deactivation? Is there any downside if we didn’t switch the ownership to the active account inside the company?

Thank you.

Transfer ownership of files or projects

Hi pkp,

Thank you for your response.
I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the file is under Team, not under Draft.
I read the article before I posted here. But I couldn’t find what the benefit of transfer the ownership is.

Here is the case: the owner is the designer who will leave the company and need to transfer it to the new joiner. To make the new joiner become the owner file, the designer needs to invite the new joiner and make him as a contributor first. By then, the designer can make the new joiner the owner of the files. But the thing is, the designer have lots of files. It will take a lot of time and it’s not efficient.

So, my question is, what is the benefit of transfer the ownership since the files will stay in the team? If we need to transfer it, the designer needs to add the new joiner as a contributor one-by-one. Or is there any fastest way to make the new joiner the owner of all files?

Can you help me with my case?
Thank you.
