Authentication Required (407)

we are trying to implement the Figma desktop app in our macOS environment and seeing this error when launching the desktop app when devices are connected to our corporate network (in office or vpn):

Authentication required (407)

A proxy requiring authentication was encountered. Please authenticate with this proxy or contact your network administrator.

Figma will automatically try to reconnect.

Has anyone else experienced this and know of a fix?

I am having the same issue. For me is working inside browser but the desktop app is giving me this message.
Only Info I found so far ( but for us it can’t be done)

  • Ask your IT department or systems administrator to unblock Port 443. This is the standard port for websites that are run over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer - https).

Anyone else has found a solution for this ?
thanks

Hello, has someone found a solution ? I’m having the same problem.

@sonia11 The guidance for this has not changed, and is still similar to what was included in the original topic details.

If you’re using the Desktop App behind a Firewall, proxy or Virtual Private Network (VPN), you may see the error message: Connection Error (407).

You have two options:

  • Use Figma in the browser. You can access the Figma web app from any of our supported browsers. Learn more in our What Platforms, Devices and Browsers are Supported? article.
  • Ask your IT department or systems administrator to unblock Port 443. This is the standard port for websites that are run over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer - https).

If you still have trouble after running through the above, we may need you to run some diagnostics + connect you to our support team.
