Allow users to define width/height of text boxes by character and line limit

Michael_Cale

Users should be able to set the width of text fields by character limit, and the height by line count, and even if the user is not actively using them to set the constraints, those inputs should provide feedback on character and line count based on width, height, and font.
Width of text fields is a UX consideration since there is an optimal width for readability for body copy. Additionally, line count and character limit come up in conversations with dev. Allowing users to define the width/height of text boxes by these two constraints would aid in conversations with dev, and provide a valuable frame of reference for usability.
