A Component containing Instances of other Components, with boolean hide/show

Hi, I’m trying to create a Component that has Instances of 3 other Components within it so that, when used as an instances, I can then on/off those 3 instances inside it. Is this possible?

I’ve looked high and low for a solution; and I’ve tried everything. I remember reading about a way of naming the layer and Figma auto makes it a boolean prop, but I can’t find it now, and I think it may only relate to Frames.

The furthest I’ve gotten is to make an instance (of the component) have a boolean for each, but it turns off the other 2 (it’s weird that it’s doing that).

Sorry if I haven’t explained this well.

Do I have to resort to variants, or am I missing something. Thanks guys for any help

@Gleb could you please help me out here mate, you’re like the guru of Figma (I’m shocked they haven’t employed you tbh). I need to have one Component where I can hide/show the 5 Components within it, boolean style. I’d rather not have to convert them to frames (as I still want those components to remain as components, or to have to make a variant for each possible combination (which would be a nightmare to implement, and unwieldy).
Is this possible? Thanks for your time

  1. This is not related to interactive components so wrong category

  2. Use the Component Properties feature, not Variants: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/5579474826519-Explore-component-properties
