+1 for this. The option to set this will be appreciated.

big +1. It is stunning to me how Figma nails much more complicated stuff but not this. I get that an option to make all shortcuts customizable is a bit more work (that any modern soft does though)… But a zoom with mouse wheel option, it is really simple and done by every single graphic software on the market. It enhances accessibility tremendously for one hand users, and 80% of your userbase will use it. I often switch software for various tasks I could have done in Figma just for this. It feels like a rolls royce with a wooden seat.

really great suggestion and insight Felix. simple mouse wheel zoom is simply much more inclusive for users with disability.

Since they won’t get sold to Adobe and became millionaires immediately, I wonder if they will listen to some users’ humble opinions

hey, logitech mx master 2 and 3 and 3s with logi option + you can configure rhe thumb wheel to zoom in out, stop whiningm every digital creator has an mx master, go get one and stop drinking starfucks

I’m a backend programmer that occasionally has to take a peek at frontend designs in Figma, and sweet mother of god this Ctrl thing is annoying and makes me hate Figma so much. Figma devs, please make this an optional feature. Thank you.

Hi, today two people came to me independently to tell me to ditch the paid miro and start using Figma. I understand that vertical scroll has photoshop and illustrator, but clients and professionals from other industries (autocad) are used to from 3d apps, google earth, games that you don’t need to physically hold two devices for the most basic interaction.
It’s not a safety feature to keep from getting lost or break something?!

But the worst thing for me is the idea that if I wanted to give a presentation, or just show something to people on a laptop at a table, I would still have to carry a wireless keyboard. That’s completely ridiculous.

I’ll see you again sometime…
good luck guys

M.

How is this still a thing? It’s just insane such critical UX feature is missing. It’s like Windows users do not exist for Figma.

Yes please!

I was really excited to add Figma to my workflow, first impression was “ew really??”. No big deal though! I’ll just find the setting so it matches how I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, PureRef, and pretty much every other visual software… I was shocked to find this three year long thread where the ONLY official reply is essentially “You’re using it wrong”. I hope someone realises this very basic missing feature is costing users.

This is my largest frustration with using Figma, and the reason I will never switch from Miro. Why on planet earth does the scroll wheel vertically pan the screen? It’s completely useless. In EVERY other app of this type, I zoom by scrolling. In Google Maps, I zoom by scrolling! I don’t think the Figma team understands the amount of angst the neglect of this simple change creates among the Figma userbase. If this feature is added, I predict 90%+ of the userbase will adopt it. Please do promptly.

I think this feature is coming soon. I have this option in my other account

Works as described:
Use scroll wheel to zoom
Right-click and drag to pan

Just came here to ask for the same thing, because scrolling a board up and down doesn’t make much sense to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

But it looks like it might coming soon based on the post above me?

Got it

Genevieve_Delage

My only nitpick with the new option is that when the “use scroll wheel zoom” option is selected, we should be able to use alt+scroll to pan vertically. Otherwise, I’m happy with the new options.

Johannes_Vollmer

Wohoooo they did it! Thank you to everyone at Figma, yey! Literally the best Design Software now.
