I use properties and variants a lot in my components. I know I can add them via naming conventions, but when dealing with a lot of existing variants, it can be tedious and confusing.

I understand that Figma is trying simplify the UI by hiding the “Add New Property” plus icon. But it’s a key function for me and because it’s only revealed on hover, it took me a super long time to figure it out. (Sidenote, this UI change is not covered in the existing Figma docs).

My proposal is that you reveal the plus sign again in the right panel, or minimally, at least in the component’s 3 dot menu.

I totally agree. I’d been beating my head against the wall trying to find the damn plus. Didn’t they do a usability test? “Now try and add another property”…

Hi there 🙂

I am having trouble finding action “Create component property” each time I’m creating new property on selected component, due to its visibility only when hovered.

I have created many components with properties, since UI3 is out, bit it seems to me I just can’t get used to this (important) action being “hidden”.

So, please consider changing this action to immediately visible, not while hovering.

Tnx <3

Been experiencing the same issue!!

Hey there, thanks for the feedback!

We’ll pass this onto our UI3 team for future consideration.

Do those idiots do it on purpose or what?

I got the new UI with the new user… I know they rolled back some changes in the next version, unfortunately, it’s not going to new users, as I see…

And this plus? Or the nested instanced panel going left from the right menu?

WHYYY? WHYYY!!!???
