It would be really helpful to have the ability to create an action for repetitive tasks.

This tool would record a series of steps and allow a kind of automation to be “replayed” with a keyboard shortcut. Examples from other software would be actions in Photoshop and Illustrator, or macros in Excel.

A tool like this would possibly need to act on a frame level, at least in our proposed use case.

We do a lot of vector design edits which get really repetitive, mostly when building and editing custom icons that have to be pixel-perfect sizes for certain devices. At the moment the workflow is to either do it manually in Figma (combo of keyboard shortcuts, and reaching for the mouse for things like Booleans which don’t have shortcuts yet), or work in Illustrator and import into Figma at the end, when setting up the library of components. If there was a way to record some kind of custom automation in Figma, we would be able to have a more efficient workflow and to stay inside of Figma for the entire project.

Hey there, thanks for sharing your feedback!

Has anyone at Figma done anything about this issue? It is a big reason that I am sticking with Adobe for most of the design work my agency does. If Figma started to match the features that define the Adobe workspace, they might find that they further gain ground against them.

If it has been resolved, I would love to know how to use this feature.
