Hi Figma Team,


I would love to have an option to collapse variable groups in the variable modal.


Problem:

Every time I’m opening the variable modal, each group is being expanded. Having a lot of component tokens as variables, this means either: Collapsing each group manually, until I get to the desired variable group. Or scrolling a looong way down until I reach the desired variable group.


Solution:


A) By default variable groups should be collapsed, not expanded

This has been a big problem for us. When can it be resolved?

Please. What the actual hell. Figma just auto-opened every variable folder in a collection for whatever reason. Now I have to manually close each one? Why doesn’t option+L work??

Any updates on this? Would be great to see some of these basic features like multi collapse/expand within Figma Variables.

Hi, I have the same problem. The Design System I’m implementing has thousands of variables and having to collapse everything in the variables modal to find what I want is starting to get maddening. As well as the proposed solution from ​@Katrina2. Please can you also consider adding a search and filter.
