Right now, projects will appear empty (even showing “0 files” in the count at the bottom) if they only contain private files that the viewer does not have access to.

I have admin access for my organization, and even I can’t see if a project does or does not contain private files. We’ve had issues where projected were deleted because they appeared empty, but in fact contained private files.

It would be helpful if Figma could indicate if a project contains private files. Even a warning before deleting the project would be appreciated. Right now there is no indication.

Hi @Kenton_Quatman, Thank you for sharing your thought! I totally agree that your idea could be a big help to other members of our community.

I’ve tried to replicate the behavior of a project showing “0 files” even when there’s a private file in it, but so far, no luck. I might have missed something, so I’m going to explore internally to learn more.

If there’s anything I’ve misunderstood, please feel free to correct me.

Also, don’t forget to cast your vote for your idea! If any other community members agree with this, please show your support by voting it up!

Thanks,

Hey @Kenton_Quatman, it’s me again! After discussing with our internal team, we’d like to take a closer look at this specific project to understand the behavior better.

Could you please reach out to our support team directly at this link?: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Please ensure you’re using the email address linked to your Figma account and kindly provide the name of the project where the hidden file is located(showing “0 files”), as well as the name of the team that the project belongs to. This information will allow our support team to conduct a more thorough investigation.

Thanks so much for your assistance!

I’ll follow up with support, but I would have to recreate the issue. When we’ve encountered this issue, we had to fix it by making sure the files were not private.
