Hey!I would be interested to open my designs, generated by Figma Make into Figma.Do you have this feature in your backlog?Thank you!Nathalie
Why is there no view for managing layers in Figma Slides? Maybe there is, but it’s tough to find. I suppose I was expecting a layers panel on the left somewhere, where I could flip between seeing my slides and the layers. Without it, we’re losing a key reason of why Figma Slides would be a better alternative than using Google Slides.
In Figma Slides today, the Layers Panel only shows when a slide is selected. This means if we have any objects outside of the slides, they are very difficult to modify. I think I understand the logic to keep the space cleaner but the space inevitably gets used for smart objects specific to the slides or things waiting to be assigned a slide and more. We have the full fledged functionality of Figma but got too clever by hiding the layers panel when working outside of a slide which hampers the program.
When I used the search on all pages to find something in my file, the next time I use the search it is still set to “all pages” and runs immediately on the term entered before. This behaviour distracts me if I need to search only this page this time. What about a buffer of 1 character until the next search runs?
The current implementation of the viewport is somewhat limited because I can’t use pinch to zoom function with the keyboard’s touchpad. Tried different browsers also and different touchpad’s, but it’s the same behavior. Enabling this will make using Figma possible on iPad browsers. Thanks.
Admins assemble! We all love the little quality of life improvements brought by the “Little Big Updates” series. How about a little love for all hard-working Figma admins who have to often work around suboptimal UX and spend way more time than needed tediously solving administrative problems? Post your little big proposals here and let’s hope one day they all come in a big juicy update. I’ll start: The modal when requesting an upgrade to Editor includes a small text field to write a reason but it is very unnoticeable. No matter what we do, people ignore it unconsciously because it just doesn’t even look like a text field. Please add a label on top of it saying “Write a reason for upgrade” and make the text field 2 or 3 lines high. To have an option to make the Upgrade request reason mandatory would also make our lives way easier. It is unbelievable that in the Figma Notifications UI, the reasons written for Upgrade requests or access requests are not visible, only via Email. Fix
Our developers spend a lot of time in Figma Inspect, having to convert everything from pixels to REM. Implementing a way to specify the document’s “font-size,” or the equivalent of 1 REM and being able to turn on REM measurements in inspect would save so much time and make our design to development handoff easier. edit: Yes, we could use Zeplin but we are an enterprise team with many projects - why pay for yet another subscription if Figma could implement this one thing?
Ultimately, the AI features are great value add - although at a price. There are many things I would prefer integrated or at least having some consistency between the tools. Some of them includeAdding the Make Changes feature into FigJam that are there for traditional design files Allowing for import/export of visio documents Conversion of files between FigJam, Design, Sites, Make, etc.
When detaching a child (nested) instance, this should detach that instance ONLY. It should NOT detach the parent instance (or any other component instance higher up in the chain).
OK, maybe I’m just lazy but while developing a plugin using an AI editor to help, it would be really nice if I could highlight/copy the red error messages form the Figma application. I know the solution to this issue but for other issues it’s good to give AI the exact wording.
A Cloud TV platform lets you stream live, linear, and on-demand content to web, mobile, and smart TVs—without heavy infrastructure. With scalability, multi-monetization models (SVOD, TVOD, AVOD), and real-time analytics in one dashboard, it’s a future-proof way to own your audience, grow revenue, and expand globally. Solutions like VPlayed make this transition seamless, combining broadcast-quality delivery with complete content control.
I was surprised to discover today that embed prototypes in Figma Slides do not show the mobile cursor nor allow me to hide the device frame..
Problem: Figma pages that were created to generate a prototype can be confusing for engineers and fellow designers. We sometimes get away with cleaning up the pages and labeling the frames, but that doesn’t always do the job especially for more complex flows. So we end up creating a separate page for our engineers which looks more like a sitemap with arrows for navigation. Solution: Have Figma auto generate a flat flow (sitemap) from the prototype. So it would take a prototype and create a new Figma page that has all the interactions of the prototype layed out in separate frames. They should be well organized frames of all the screens and interactions like popup modals, flyouts, all linked with arrows that can be labelled by the designers.
Is there a plan for Figma to support relative font size units, such as vw, vh, vmin, vmax, etc.? The design system I’m working at is trying to add fluid font size calculations to bigger title sizes, and Figma’s native support for these units would be extremely helpful. I’m also working separately on a plugin that converts inputed relative units to px values, but it seems Figma’s API won’t support background-running plugins that observes text layer changes. Any thoughts on making the plugin more useful?
I want to apply AI to Figma for example automatically update or generate UI screens following my current asset (I will create a library with color, icon, component, font of text, size of text,...). I see the feature First draft in Figma but it only allows me to use the existing libraries of Figma, cannot put mine. Please support me with this.
Hi there- I was just wondering about the possibility of adding a new feature surrounding components which could hopefully expedite some slow and time consuming processes- namely defining more complex variables which rely on the modal values of other variables without applying and editing it every single time to every relevant component- which is incredibly time consuming (for context, I used Figma as required for an assessment task, and building it with the variables in interactions took up too much time, both in figuring out how to apply variables if I couldn’t predefine them -apart from simple definitions in the variables table- and in debugging all of it- I even stayed up all night because I was too stressed- I ended up working on it from late afternoon all the way to 8 AM and thinking of solutions and I still couldn’t finish it- and that was just some of the final touches that should not have taken as long as it did.. even got sick from not sleeping. I’m still sick from it).So, I w
We are able to use icon fonts as icons in Figma (e.g.: Font Awesome, Material Icons) but the new Material Symbols font isn’t built into Figma yet. It would be so cool if Figma implemented this… What do you guys think?
For example, select a with the cursor, and write the same for b. Or write for B that the value of A multiplied by 50,000. I wish we could have this kind of function. The ai is absolutely powered by the text you enter, and even a slight change in the description is producing a completely wrong result. It would be nice if we could select multiple objects, such as adding the values of A and B to C.
For years I have the same issue with my devs: “Where to find a hover state for this button?” I’ve tried different approaches, but the most native (and most useful for devs) it is to have ability to see all component states on the fly, without leaving document and trying to find some piece of design documentation. You already introduced this as Playground feature, but it is not useful for devs. So my suggestion: Rename “Playground” to “Inspect component” Add Inspect panel in playground modal (in dev mode) Increase size of modal Add zoom-in\zoom-out features for component preview
It would be amazing if you could unpublish individual templates that are no longer actively being used without unpublishing a whole template file.
Looking for an updated version of the MKitF2I plugin to work with Indesign 2025.
not trying to shout in the title, just want to make this more visible. currently, when you want to apply, lets say, a gradient mask to an image, you need to make a shape, apply to it the gradient with transparency, then have the image on top of the shape and make a mask from the 2 layers in the layers panel. the problem is that its very hard to control afterwards, to select the image or the gradient layer you need to search in the layers panel, its just difficult. plus figma doesnt (yet, i hope) smooth gradients like photoshop does, so the mask wont even turn out very nice. you should look at how photoshop does it, why not just have the mask strictly linked to the image, or on the image, if you will, without the need for extra layers. for an example, imagine you are working with a irregularly shaped png with transparence - it would be really uncomfortable to apply a fade transparency to that png using the current means, you would create that masking layer under the png, but the png is
Ideally we would see an MCP connection icon somewhere all the time so we do not break our prototype when the MCP connection fails or drops and then have the AI suddenly be dumb as a box of hair and redesign everything.
Can you please make a feature that allows you to import the Figma Make page to a figma file? Also would be great to export components from Figma Make.
I’m trying to localize an app using the new variables feature but it looks like I can’t add break lines to the string. For titles, especially in some languages like Japanese where there are no spaces, it is totally necessary. Is this planned for the near future?
