Often, we have many files open, and I get lost trying to get back to a particular one my co-worker is in. They then have to send me the link so I can join. It would be great if, like following someone’s mouse, I could jump to the last file they were active in.
With components having multiple states, some of which have very different text, it would be very helpful if clicking into a comment would show you what state/variant each component was in when the comment was made. Not sure if this would require a new “comment mode” where you would temporarily be shown all the components in their modified states/variants, but this would ease the communication and feedback loop. Let me know what you think - any problems with this? How difficult does this sound?
Lets Say I am brainstorming tasks to do for today and I add 10 ten tasks to my main Node (which currently reads “Any question or topic”). Lets I want to group those 10 tasks into 3 groups. I cannot do that. Currently the only way to do this is initially form groups ( which are unknown in the beginning). Rather than top down, Mind map should allow bottom up approach
Currently Ctrl+click on a locked layer selects the outermost layer, which doesn’t make much sense and makes it annoying to select layers that contain locked parts. Suggestions alternatives for Ctrl+click on locked layer behavior: The locked layer gets selected and the selection indicator is red with a little lock icon. The deepest unlocked layer above the locked layer gets selected.
Has the functionality for sharing links to selected frame been removed? I upgraded to Figma Desktop App version 116.2.4, and now I no longer see the option in the dialog that appears when I select a frame and hit the ‘Share’ button. I double checked, by creating a new document with a couple of empty frames in, and still no luck. Does anybody else suffer this issue? If it’s been removed, then it’s a massively frusrating regression – we frequently link to individual frames when working with developers and referencing design features.
I have never ever needed the Slice tool, and neither have you! It’s so quick and easy to share the link to a selection, take a screenshot, or ⇧A a pretty frame around your work and export it. So I really don’t see the point of keeping Slice inside Figma. How hasn’t it been axed yet? Are there that many Slice users out there? Given that S is such a prominent key, it’s very easy to hit by accident, (happens to me multiple times a day) and Slices are just weird to delete. Let’s declutter! Less is more, less is more, less is more. It takes great courage to say goodbye, but I think it’s time! <3
原先渐变色滑块的颜色编辑可以在一节页面中完成,改版后,现在渐变色的滑块需要在二级页面中才能选择,操作变得繁琐了,大大降低了工作效率,不知道figma的设计团队为什么要做这种负向优化
Is it possible to have a secondary confirmation popup when deleting a page with content to prevent accidental deletion?
This banner is annoying, and I can’t seem to remove it. I don’t want/need dev mode, I just need to look at designs done by my team!
Hi, I’m trying to create a text block that has different fonts inside of it and it’s surprisingly difficult in Figma. The desired result is something like this: https://i.pinimg.com/564x/51/eb/10/51eb10ab5be583010b631e7207c135d9.jpg I use Option+Command+C to paste style and it works just as expected if I select a whole block of text or any other object. However, if I select just one letter or word in a text block and want to copy-paste a different style to them, there is no way to make it work. It just doesn’t copy the style unless the whole text block is selected. I have to choose the font and size manually which is time-consuming and strange. Is there a workaround or a different hotkey combination to apply a style to just one letter in a text block?
When I open the “sticker dock”, and select/drag a sticker to my FigJam canvas, I want the sticker dock to stay open, because I’m usually dragging/searching for multiple stickers to drag out in one sitting. Each time the dock closes after I’ve dragged one sticker, I have to open it every single time and search again for the same ones I was just looking at. I know there is a “dock to side” capability, but it’s huge in size and takes up a good portion of my canvas. I just want the option for it to stay open, and be small. Thanks!
Hi all, I came across this interesting features while playing with Ableton Live DAW. In Ableton you can create a set of Macros to control various parameters of the instrument you are playing. The cool thing is that you can save ‘‘snapshots’’ of the Macro settings, in order to access the desired settings without having to tweak the knobs all the time. I think this could be applied to Figma properties panel. Properties are a great feature to avoid building dozens of variants and make component very flexible. The only downside is that you have to tweak the properties every time you use that component to achieve the configuration you want. How cool would it be if you can save these configurations and you can select the desired one everytime you drag that component into your artboard? Example: This is a Top Nav Component that uses property. Every time I use it I need to tweak the properties ( Yes/No front icon, Yes/No back icon, Yes/No background, Icon or Action and so on…) If I could save
We use dev mode, but can’t see color code of color style. 😔That’s hard to use.
It would be really helpful to import pdfs as images without trying to read any of the text as this tends to mess up the formatting and so is no longer readable. I would use the feature for going through maths exam papers when I would want to demonstrate going through the paper. If you think this would be valuable please vote on this thread so that it gets the attention that I think it deserves. Many thanks James
Please let me know if such a feature exists. If not, it would be helpful if it were implemented for teams using libraries. Group A: Artist with limited or no editing of components Group B: Artist with governance over components I need any component created by Group B to be available in a library for Group A. However, Group A can not break, unlink, or edit the component in any way, this ensures Group A comes to Group B for edits to the components if needed. Please share if there is such a feature, plugin, or hack. I want to ensure our team communicates their needs appropriately while keeping our branding and components working correctly throughout all the projects created by our artists. If a rouge Group A artist unlinks and then creates their version of a component, when Group B rolls out an update for all components, the unliked component will not update, making it difficult for our team to keep track of all customized components by Group A. Thank you.
This should say “Go to main component in [library name] library.”
It would be better if we were able to set device for each and every flows we create since the device setting becomes common for the whole file we were unable to have separate devices set for mobile and desktop in same device
I would REALLY love some additional zoom options on the prototype view. I’m constantly going to different presentation rooms, some with TV’s, some projectors, and the resolution scaling of each (including my own monitors) means there just simply isn’t enough options to present effectively. For the most part this: really only offers me two different views, and for me that’s just not enough. For sure I want to add separate options for both Fill and Fit: Scale DOWN to Fit width Scale DOWN to Fit height Scale UP to Fill width ONLY Scale UP to Fill height ONLY But I’d never be opposed to a simple custom zoom, so we can try to actually match real pixel width on various screens with scaling.
Platform billing feedback, I find it disappointing that developers are force to let every client know that they work with that they need to own their own Figma account in order to work with them to have an available dev license. It would be great to have an individual license that allows developers like myself to work on multiple Figma projects from multiple brands and agencies. The licensing model feels very restrictive in its current state which is why I end up canceling my plan. I hope in the future this does change as I think you do have a wonderful platform, but your current model doesn’t make sense for developers who work on lots of different projects who don’t build the designs but execute them. I would love it if this message gets to the right teams in Figma.
Not super important and totally subjective, but I don’t like the sound of the timer when time runs out in FigJam. 🙃 Would love to have other timer sounds to choose from.
I would love to be able to set variables for font sizes. That way i could define the reduction amount for the mobile versions of our designs. Set a vaiable of 40px and a mode “mobile” with the value 32. This would make this kind of conversions a breeze: If a text looks to big, opt for its mobile version. done.
Need to resize color palette (and other palettes). Tired to scroll it every day. Add this feature please.
I leave comments in my projects to discuss certain topics and also sometimes use the comment function for documenting specs. It would be good if comments could be visually distinguishable (discussion vs. specs comments), so that devs can see at first sight which ones are important for them.
Hey folks! Am I the only one who would love to receive a notification or a ping (outside the Figma App but as a Mac notification) when a specific person of the team enters the file?
I use a custom emoji font made as a COLRv0 font. This technology has been supported for years in all browsers and in Sketch app but is not supported in Figma.
