Suggest a Feature

It’s currently really frustrating managing pages in a file right now. I’d love to be able to select multiple pages with standard selection shortcuts (shift, cmnd) so that I can maintain more complex file structures easier, as well as duplicate or delete multiple pages as once.

Hey hey, Im tackling a project where end device don’t have a square pixel ratio. In photosop threre is an option to preview non-square pixel ratio out put and Im looking for a similar solution on Figma.(yes, it means I can do it on Ps but, ya) If any one has any advice or sugesstion on a work flow, I would be really grateful.

I work on design systems in Figma and have done for a few companies. It would be really useful to have the split-screen mode that you see in coding editors like VS Code. If you are trying to align components it is really useful to have them open next to you. I’ve sometimes worked around this having desktop and web views open side by side on the screen. We have noticed some inconsistencies when reimporting placeholders into Figma, like text between square brackets . They are not getting imported back and we have to manually re-add them. Bold/attributes also behave oddly when reimporting.

Can you add a setting or just altogether remove the “focus the window” behavior when a branch is successfully merged? Every time I merge, because it’s a lengthy process, I go do something else, but then the app forces focus on the window and tab, and if I was doing something else it’s more than once caused accidental edits and it ALWAYS interrupts my work. It’s so jarring and flow-breaking. I’m just hoping this is a bug that has gone overseen

Properties like “leading-trim” are still not supported in a lot of browsers, so when I design with the “Vertical Trim” option in Figma, my developer doesn’t know what to do about it, he has to calculate the actual space based on the line-height. A similar thing happens with borders. CSS only allows for outside borders, so when I design with borders inside or the center, it doesn’t translate. Please add a signal of some sort, or enable a “css-friendly” mode, so when we are designing, we are weary of using some of the most advanced WebGL features. Thanks!

I just tried publishing a library to to Community, and got an incomprehensible red snackbar saying “could not publish file… status 403”. I looked into the dev console, there was nothing useful there. Thankfully I knew I could go to the Network tab, find the failed request and look at the response: And only after that I was able to understand what exactly was wrong and what I needed to do. This is not user-friendly at all. If there’s a perfectly fine error message in the network response, it should be shown to the user in the UI.

It would be amazing to have the ability to choose the color of each bullet point on the same line, rather than having to use the same color for all the bullet points 😀

It would be great to also have variables connected to constraint proportions. e.g. it now takes two clicks to change from icon-64 to icon-48

Dear developers of Figma, thank You for Your powerful and invaluable tool for us designers You made 🙇‍♂️ I’d like to ask, have You thought about Ai integration into Figma? Something like ChatGPT prompt line? So it could map whole project, understand it, and create components, variants, tidy up designs into pixel perfect form, etc? I know this is a sci-fi, but our fellow coders already use ChatGPT as a fully integrated support of their work, so I’d like to know whether this idea is in Your scope, With kind regards Branislav

I’d love to have styles for the Auto Layout in the same way as Figma does for the grids/columns, typography, colors etc. Handy for making consistent containers. Think of changing padding globally for example. What do you think? Cheers

Very often I do not want to share a prototype but I want to visualize how a list reacts when scrolling or I want to show a list element beyond the fold. Therefore it would be absolutely handy if I could set the scroll state of a frame that is clipping content. For example setting the y scroll state to 50%. This would help me visualize my ideas right away without settings up a prototype and instructing the viewer what to do to see the result. A workaround is currently to set up a scroll container frame, put a content frame inside and move the content frame. But that is not possible when I use an instance of a component and that is the case most of the time. Thanks for reading, Tobias

There should be a checkbox or something to prevent interactions behind elements. For example if I have a modal popping up I don’t want to trigger any interactions behind the modal.

Love using the stamps. Especially now that they can move around with the sticky note that I put it one. I’d love to have one with an Idea bulb. I place around a lot of stickies with ideas, questions, and notes when mapping out a user flow. For questions I already have a stamp, would love an idea one as well to distinguish it from the other notes.

Would be great if FigJam had functionality equivalent to Miro’s card feature. I’m working as transparent as possible but having people seeing irl what I’m doing is sometimes detrimental. I was wondering if there’s a way to activate a multiplayer freeze for non-editors. If I activate multiplayer freezing it takes say a snapshot of my file the moment I activate it and displays this snapshot to non-editors. It allows me to continue working on the file while other people see the latest status that has been “approved” by me - namely the last snapshot. It also helps me keep my file clean since I wouldn’t have to create duplicate pages or separate sections for stakeholders, and allows me to also just have one link I can share with people. This of course would make sense the most for WIPs that are actively been worked on, let’s say quick turnaround projects where not only design teams are working on but need access to the latest designs. I haven’t given much of a thought about this 🤷🏼‍♂️ but it just came to me as I was working on a fil

I want to draw mind-maps with collapsible branches and that the arrows or lines connecting the different branches can be clicked on, and the user can be able to insert either an image, text, or a document that could be opened and closed when not needed.

Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this Background scrolls with other elements. When I set “Fix position when scrolling” it jump upper and overlap other elements. Goal Make background static when other elements can be scrolled on top of it. Solution Add 3rd tab of scrolling type in the next order: FIXED … SCROLLS … BACKGROUND or “BACK ELEMENTS” which is fixed but placed under the "SCROLLS’ layers. Thanks!

Can we get an On Scroll feature, where by animations happen when you scroll. It is not the same as on drag. Parallax being an example of one.

Small quality of life improvement: Don’t save blank new files. I’ll accidentally hit Cmd+N and then immediately close the tab before doing anything. I end up with a bunch of “Untitled” files that are blank. It’d be great if it didn’t save these blank files. Seems easy enough to delete files that are blank.

I absolutely love the ‘Selection colors’ menu… but at times it can get in the way. I know you limit the amount of colors initially shown which helps— but could we maybe also add a toggle for the menu to collapse or show AND/OR move the menu maybe below ‘Effects’ menu or even below ‘Export’?

Im Product Manager. My Designer writing some rules within the Figma I’m writing stories within Jira I copy past rules from Figma to Jira (+ additional rules) I then use the Jira link and Jira widget to add my Jira within the Figma closed to the UI Why can’t my designer directly create and update rules directly in Jira without leaving their Figma ?

I guess split-tabbing works great for Macs, but window-splitting is a default function for Windows. Figmas function is just repeating Windows’ functionality. It would be okay, if Figma’s was hidden somewhere behind the button or hotkey but it’s activated by dragging a tab. Dragging a tab always put in it a new window. It is so in all applications but apparently not Figma. Please: Add an option to turn off split-tabbing Optimize Figma for basic Windows functionality
