I’m working on advanced prototyping and sometimes I want to overrule a a condition or an expression, I deleted then rewrite it. I can’t take as copy cause I have many expressions. So could be there any way to make a comment like in IDEs?
👋 Hello everyone, I have been reflecting on how we can improve and grow our community, especially in terms of collaboration and contribution. One idea that came to mind is the ability to fork community files, similar to how GitHub works. 🫡 Why it is important? By having the ability to “fork” files, we can obtain a copy of the original file and create a branch to propose changes. This would allow us to: ✅ Contribute to the libraries we use every day. ✅ Propose improvements and optimizations. ✅ Help with constructive feedback. ✅ Collaborate on documentation. ⚡ Benefits This method would not only give us the opportunity to improve existing files, but would also foster a culture of collaboration, similar to what we see in GitHub’s open source projects. It would allow members to actively contribute, improve and adapt the files according to changing design needs and current trends. 🙌 Conclusion Imagine being able to contribute to projec
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us the option to disable auto update. Seriously, this is a real design flaw, ironic for a UI/UX design app. One of the golden rules is never to update software mid project as it can introduce unwanted bugs. So why does Figma not have the option to disable this?
Hi Figma forum community, My name is Julia and I’m presenting you an idea on behalf of BeLight Software. Our Team developed Amadine https://amadine.com with users of all experiences with vector graphics in mind: from total beginners to the seasoned professionals. Lately we’ve had a lot of feedback from our users who wish to make the most out of their Clipboard on a Mac and iPad. But when copying the objects in Amadine the result pasted in Figma is in raster format. The developers have three types of files they store within Clipboard: PDF file, AMDC file and raster image. For some reason, only the raster image gets pasted. We’ve tested the behaviour and for example with Adobe Illustrator the same process gives a vector result. We would love to deliver the best compatibility to our users and would love to know if something can be changed on either our or your side, so that the pasted result is a vector one. Could you please look into it and offer a solution for this issue?
PROBLEM Deleting multiple pages is painfully slow. The current version of Figma only supports deleting one page at a time. SOLUTION Allow multiple pages to be selected (Shift + Click, or COMMAND + Click) and Deleted (Delete Key or Right-Click > Delete).
So, although I really only started using Figma yesterday, and watching a lot of tutorials and such, There are some things that seem to be a bit too complicated. And as a person who likes to design systems and improve user experiences, these are my initial thoughts and struggles. 1. Styles and variables Designers spend a lot of time and effort creating color pallets, and sizing variables and other common items that most likely never change between projects (with the exception of colors) Now there are styles and variables which is great as it can speed up the process of design, but why is there no way to natively copy styles or variables between projects. There is a cut styles option, but that removes the styles from the host project, in which you then have to repaste to maintain them, or re upload the project file to get them back again. Also, when i tried copying multiple style categories (such as blue or red, etc palates), the program sure lets me cut all of them (thus removing from t
As an editor, and possibly also as a viewer, I want to be able to see where specific colors (created using local variables) are used. I find it very difficult to search for them.
Recently the Prototype dialog was altered so that the select menus show a truncated list with a down arrow (when the dialog is positioned near the bottom of the screen). When you hover over the down arrow, more options appear. On the surface, this seems intuitive enough, but the problem is that when I do this, my eye scans for the option I’m looking for, and when I don’t see it, I start to doubt if I opened the right select menu, then I have to consider it again and finally remember to hover over the down arrow. Even though I use these menus a gazillion times a day, I am always having to go through this multi-step cognitive process when I don’t see the menu item I am expecting to see. Would prefer how it was before when the entire select menu was visible right from the get-go!
It would be so nice if when connecting to the same component and using it as an manual overlay, it remembers the location so I do not have to manually adjust for all future instances.
Sometimes I take screen shots from Figma mobile app as a wire frame, I wonder if there is a button for the screen shot & an option to record a video for the prototype.
It would be great to have an option to use native macOS cursor.
If developer selects a text frame with several paragraphs they will see the whole text as a single string in the Properties pane or Dev Mode. They then tend to copy and paste it in code or their internationalization database as is, without separating it to several strings — and I can understand them: who will bother manually separating the text? As a result, no distinct <p> tags in production, no spacing between paragraphs, more unneeded manual communication and corrections though. Figma now shows several style definitions in Properties pane but only one text string. I think you can show text divided into several strings, each with separate Copy button.
Figma has become an indispensable tool for user interface design, offering an intuitive and versatile experience. However, creating complete websites and integration with content management systems (CMS) remains a manual and inefficient process. We propose the implementation of a native CMS manager in Figma, allowing designers to connect their designs directly to dynamic databases. This would allow: Interactive prototyping with real data: Designers would be able to visualize and test their designs with real content from a CMS, improving accuracy and end-user experience. Automatic synchronization between design and content: Changes made in the CMS would be automatically reflected in Figma designs, eliminating the need for constant manual updates. Increased productivity: Workflow would be significantly optimized, freeing up time for designers to focus on creative and strategic aspects. Methodology: The CMS manager in Figma could be based on creating tables with different data types, si
Would be nice if the Figma desktop will pickup the fonts as you install them, without the need to hard quit the application each time you install a font. Hope the team takes this into consideration! Thanks!
Many times we use component level tokens. Variables like “card-heading-color” manages the color applied to the card component title. In Figma there is nothing that links these. The variables do not move with the component. It would be nice if a variables collection was named the same as the component then it would “link” those. Moving a component should also move it’s component tokens. There should be an option when adjusting a component’s properties should only show that components variables collection. So we can “scope” variables/tokens to a specific component.
I just gave a presentation to a pretty large group at my company. I had the frame that contained a component that was interactive. It was a bit buggy and had to resort to exiting presentation mode. Components within components and them all having prototype wiring seems to get funky.
This is on my personal account under all my Drafts. I have a paid Figma plan on my work account, so not sure why you’re trying to upsell on my personal account.
As an Spanish keyboard layout user, I often make the mistake of creating a new design file with ctrl+n, because in Microsoft Word, that is the command to convert text to bold. But all those files are empty and have the name “untitled” (i know it sucks, changing office language would make relearn excel altogether)
Hi. I’ve been working with booleans and variants and are a nice way to set a component state. What happens is that, if a component has several states, and all of them have hover states, I have to create a hover variant for each variant, and seems like not a good workflow, in my humble opinion, just for a hover state. So, what if through the interactions panel, where it says While hovering/Mouse enter, etc, there could be a way to apply a layer property, like size, opacity, or toggle show/hide? That way, just for the hover state, there would be no need to create variants, just applying logic through the interactions panel. Or maybe I’m missing a feature and this is possible in another way 😅. Well, that’s it, the possibility to interact with layers/objects through the interactions panel, like opacity, size, rotation, and, why not, modifying text. I believe UXPin does this, so hover states are just smooth, just that. I hope that my explanation makes sense. Thank you.
I have a QWERTZ keyboard. All shortcuts using symbols accessible through Shift+[Number] do not work. For instance CTRL + / .
I need to select anchor points on a shape or across multiple shapes In Figma, I hit Enter and go into Edit Mode. Currently, I can only use rectangular lasso options. I’d really prefer lasso style options, specifically a free draw lasso like in Illustrator. Shapes get bizarre and weird, and often a rectangular lasso just doesn’t cut it. Across the board, the lasso tool in Illustrator is the biggest reason I keep using Illustrator for shape editing instead of Figma. What are others thoughts on selecting anchor points in Illustrator vs in Figma?
It’d be nice if we had a way of playing image sequences on scroll so as we scroll down it seems like a video is playing and if we scroll back up the video rewinds, similar as the animations on the apple display site or the scrollsequence tool
I work at a fairly large company with a big design team and it is hard to keep up with what is going on. It would be really great if there was a section in our ‘All Teams’ page where our Admins could post announcements, updates, and generally communicate with all the users in our team. For admins/design leads, this could be a great way to communicate big updates, product releases, big wins, and even team shout outs. For designers, this would be a great way to keep up with team wide goals, product releases, and big design changes. And for stakeholders, this could be a way to have greater high-level visibility into the team priorities and new product releases. Figma already has such a great communications system in the comments, but it would be great if there was a place external to the files where information could be shared.
Please refer to this thread. We’re looking for a template like MIRO boards which has the ability to add new nodes and shift everything else automatically. Add User Story Map template Template, plugin, and widget ideas Similarly to what I used in miro, I would love to have a User Story Map Framework template; It should have user Goals, tasks, and vertical lines for releases. Would be great if newly added tasks snapped automatically to some kind of alignment, so that it looks clean at all times, even if I move the bottom to the top and so on
