Suggest a Feature

It’s really cool how Figma’s prototypes since recently support a responsive mode, but sadly there doesn’t seem to be a way to make overlays responsive. Their size isn’t adapted to the frame. Also see: Overlay with responsive size depending on the browser window While I understand it would be hard for Figma to know how to adapt the overlay size automatically it might be interesting to add some explicit position options for this? Like Fill right (Position on the right, fill available space vertically) Fill left (Position on the left, fill available space vertically) Fill screen (here we’d be able to manage the position logic ourselves) When you want your overlay to fill the screen one workaround might be to make it super tall, but, when you want to enable scrolling this doesn’t work, the scrollable area would not adapt. https://developers.figma.com/docs/rest-api/library-analytics-intro/ I’m a sole PIC of design system, I’m conducting quarterly Design System Health Score to determine whether the design system actually works and used by the design team, it helps us quantitatively measure the impact of our design system. Currently my team uses organization plan and I think I can’t access the library_analytics:read permission in this plan, while the organization plan supposedly mature and big enough to actually uses analytics data as primary data, so my suggestion is to open the library_analytics permission to organization plan.

I came across this feature request for MCP support on Figma comments:It got me thinking about a bigger question: what if comments could become actions instead of just feedback?Since MCP doesn't currently support this workflow, I built a plugin called Pal.Pal reads comments, understands the request, finds the relevant layer, and applies basic design changes. It's still very early and only handles simple cases, but it proved that there might be a much faster path from feedback to implementation.I believe this idea would be far more powerful if built natively into Figma. Designers could spend less time implementing repetitive feedback and more time creating new things.  

Hi! Has the canvas panning keyboard shortcuts changed recently? I use Ctrl+Space+scroll wheel to pan and zoom the canvas but now that keyboard shortcut puts me into a Keyboard picking mode. Is this new? It really gets in the way of working.

I am actively using Variants, but there is not enough search in the Variants selection list in component. In my Design System I decided to design one basic component: 1 button, 1 input field, 1 icon … etc. I implement the rest of the variations and states in Variants. I’ve in my base 16px Icon component 34 Variants of icons, in base 24px Icon as many. Search bar would be of great help: Does anyone use Variants like me? How did you solve this navigation (Search) problem? 😊

Hi Figma team, Looking forward to Config next week! Going to be epic! The Config website is NOT epic, however.Why do we need to do maths for the agenda? PDT vs EST time zone is annoying me more than normal looking at the schedule. Please add the ability for users to set their time zone so the times are accurate to a users location. Geez.  Also, why can I not hide the sessions I don’t want to see? I know I can add the sessions I am attending and keep my own agenda, but I also would like to hide the ones I do not want to see from the general agenda so I can check for new sessions that may have been added. I see some have been added since my last visit, but having to wade thru sooo many of the sessions I am not interested in to see whats new is arg-inducing. At least collapse them to show only the title (Plus a button to expand) if they are not of interest.Just a few thoughts. I’m sure others will add more.

Organization would be immensely helpful if we could create folders for our drafts. I want to be able to organize my drafts into different categories (such as UI kits, Ideas, Wireframe kits, iOS, Android, etc…) so I can find files easily. Right now, the drafts page is a huge jumbled mess and I can’t create Team pages for everything. Maybe something as simple as being able to add ‘tags’ to each file, similar to Zeplin.

There are not enough typographic controls in Figma Slides, mainly - paragraph spacing. Example: when creating bullet points they are really squashed and there is no easy way to adjust the spacing between them without going to Figma and bringing it back to Slides. 

I’m using figma for development meaning I’m using figma design files shared from a designer which they give me Edit access, I find using View mode more effective for me while developing i.e easier time getting the images sources, it just more convenient for more to use View mode instead, However There is no easy way I am aware of, to switch from edit to view mode other than sharing the file with to a different user and give them only view access.I selected this as a question, because I’m not exactly sure if there is an easier way.What i want is to be able to change between (Edit/View) modes in figma design files.

Would be nice to have a feature that allows to reset specific parts of an instance: Shadow Background color of a container Border of a container  ...

A tool like Figjam would benefit so much from an Auto Layout feature. As a user, so often i’ll just duplicate a shape, which will often follow a horizontal or vertical flow. It makes sense that this would only be possible in Sections. At very least, you could have it as a Auto Layout “Lite”. You click on the Section, and you can choose the flow to be → or ↓ for new children in the parent section right? Duplicating a child in a section just places it over the previous shape, literally no one wants that. C’mon, let’s make this happen 😉

Hi Figma Team,I’d like to request a feature enhancement for search in Figma: the ability to search within a specific selected frame.Currently, search appears to work across either the current page or all pages, but there is no option to limit search results to a particular frame. This creates friction when working on large files or dense pages with many frames.The main issues are:Searching takes unnecessary time When I only need to find one text layer or element inside a specific frame, Figma searches the entire page. This makes finding simple items slower than it needs to be, especially in large design files. Find and replace cannot be scoped to a frame When I want to find and replace text only inside one specific frame, I’m unable to do so safely. Since the search applies more broadly, there’s a risk of changing text elements outside the intended frame.A useful improvement would be to add a search scope option such as:Search in:Current selection / Selected frame / Current page / All

Hello. I was wondering if it is possible to have percentage values in variables, like setting percentage value for frame widths or shape sizes (etc.) that have variable modes applied to them? Percentage values could respond better to content that varies within a frame or frames within frames.

Coming from a design org where designers with full-seats have a variety of workflow-types. Some designers leverage AI heavily while others do not, thus some designers burn through AI credits and others have a generous amount that go to waste in that AI credit cycle. This trend can vary, of course, so as an admin, I think it would benefit our organization with some type of allocation or redistribution of AI credits to those seats who rely on them during a given credit cycle—credits that are technically available within our organization. It could even be a designer-to-designer interaction where Designer A shares 1000 credits with Designer B if they know they don’t need all their credits that cycle.Is anyone else seeing this trend in their organization, or see this as a potential scenario? I want to make sure we’re getting the most for our money and optimizing resources across the team.

I’m constantly clicking on this by accident. Is there a way to disable this shortcut so it doesn’t appear on every single frame?

As a Figma user, i would like to have the ability to add “items” to components. For example, to add a new selection option in an overlaying menu component or adding a new row to a table component. Currently to achieve this ability i have to create sets of components with either many items already existing, or several ranges of items (5,10,15,20 items) this creates more components to manage and is not scalable. if i need to add more, i have to detach the component 😱 😱 😱 Here is an example of how i currently work: An awesome ability would be to also rearrange the items within the component (without breaking it!) I would love to see this feature and hope you will consider it. Thank you!

I need to create internal linking PDF exports; a multipage document with a table of contents that provides links to the relevant pages. If I use the link tool, the links generated in the exported PDF go to the web URL of the linked frames, and does not navigate to the page within the PDF. Using prototype linking does not generate any interactivity in the PDF at all. It would be useful for either the prototyping tool or link tool to generate interactive internally-linked PDF exports.

My idea is pretty simple but can make a huge difference in the way we share files with stakeholders and colleagues. I suggest adding the ability to give different access (viewer/editor) for pages within a Figma file. Because in most cases, we’re trying to include a whole project, feature, or function, whether small or big, in one Figma file - it becomes a real pain-point if the lowest level of grant permissions it’s the file itself instead of the pages within the file. Hello, I tried Figma slides to re-create my portfolio, which I had already created in Figma, because I was attracted by the possibility to quickly reorder the slides. However, I noticed a problem: while I can create internal links in Figma slides which allow me to jump from a slide to another, when I export said slides as a PDF, the internal links are substituted with external links which jump back to the Figma website when clicked, instead of allowing you to navigate through the PDF inside your own pdf viewer. This is a problem for various reasons: you can’t easily navigate around the .pdf offline, since each time you click the supposedly internal links you instead get redirected to a web page; the offline .pdf and the online version can be out of sync. Meaning that the offline versions, which may be several and have different slide orders or different elements (it’s common practice to slightly tweak a portfolio when you send it to different clients) will all point to the same figmas

So I like to use tables inside my FigJam file to track work that I’ve done on a project. I have a list of things to do inside a cell in the table, and I use the “thumbs-up” sticker to mark that things are done. But if I later add rows to the table, the stickers I’ve placed on the table shift down to keep their position relative to the dimensions of the entire table. I think a better behaviour would be for stickers to keep their position relative to the cell of the table they’ve been placed on, similar to how they try to stick to the edge of a sticky note.

In Figma Capture, the left-side “Figma Capture” logo/label looks like a clickable button because it is placed in the same toolbar style as Capture page and Select element.At first, I clicked it multiple times thinking it was a button, but later realized it is only the logo/branding and not clickable. For normal users, this can be confusing because it looks like an action item.A small improvement could be to make the logo area visually different from the buttons, add more separation, or remove the button-like styling so users can clearly understand what is clickable and what is not.

Has anyone else needed to dynamically update the copyright year in their designs? Whether it's for a website footer, a presentation deck, or maybe a timestamp, it's tedious to manually update them to ensure they stay current.It would be incredibly useful if we could fetch a native {Current Date/Time} token directly within the value field of a "set variable" action.Imagine being able to write a simple expression like:"Copyright © " + {Current Date: YYYY} + " MyCompanyName"This feature would be a massive quality-of-life improvement.Additionally, it will also be great if an “Onload” Trigger can be added so these variables are available without any delay. 

Currently there is a huge limitation in prototyping possibilities because any dropdown menus appear underneath the following element in the autolayout flow. I can’t remove autolayout because it would break designs across all useage of design system components and we can’t properly demo prototypes. Anchored by the lack of a customizable z-index property.
