Right now, when I export a PDF from figma, I expect it to be like a regular PDF from any other software such as illustrator. However, when I look at the internal structure, some things are in an XFORM object, other things are not, text has redundant copies and are masked by other shapes elsewhere in the hierarchy. things in frames are similarly structured in weird ways. This makes it impossible for screen readers to read it, and it makes it impossible for me to use Figma to design stuff for use in PDFs, even though figma does support exporting to PDF.
Unshareable generative plugin is kinda useless and force every team member to rebuild the wheel.
I couldn’t find a similar thread, so I’ll just post it here. Here’s what’s InVision Studio does great: The idea is to be able to define when each layer is to be triggered when using smart animated. Currently there is only a global switch and all layers will animated in a given time. If this idea is a duplicated of one I didn’t find, please merge it together. A great feature for you PMs and Devs to think about.
I found a usability issue in Figma while working with line objects. When I draw a horizontal line, I can resize it using the “W” (Width) input field in the right-side layout/properties panel, which makes sense. However, when I draw a vertical line, the resize control is still tied to the same “W” field instead of switching to the “H” (Height) field. This feels unintuitive and inconsistent from a UX perspective because a vertical line’s primary dimension is height, not width.I compared this behavior with Adobe Illustrator, and Illustrator handles this much better:Horizontal lines are controlled through Width Vertical lines are controlled through HeightThat approach feels more natural and improves usability during precise editing. It would be great if Figma could automatically map:Horizontal lines → Width (W) Vertical lines → Height (H)
I just want to adjust the page settings for each page “frame” so to speak so I can make it wider. It’s not clear that this is possible.
Creative Companion – A Fun and Personal Figma FeatureI would love to see Figma introduce an optional Creative Companion that stays with users across all their files and projects. Instead of being linked to one design file, the companion would belong to the user's Figma account and always be there whenever they use Figma. The companion doesn't have to be just a pet. Users could choose from different characters like a pet, robot, mascot, fantasy creature, or avatar. They could customize its appearance, clothes, accessories, and expressions, and even change its look whenever they want to match their mood or style. The companion could also make long design sessions more enjoyable by allowing users to interact with it during short breaks. Simple activities like playing with it or feeding it could help designers relax. It could also gently remind users to take breaks, stretch, or drink water. As users continue designing in Figma, they could unlock new customization options, outfits, and accesso
Custom scatter brushes are great, but we want to be able to create a true pixel brush using the scatter brush. However, to do this, we need the ability to be able to ‘rotation lock’ the brush so that instead of providing a rotation offset on the item we’re using for the brush, we can instead set that the rotation is always the same direction and doesn’t follow the path.
Auto layout is cool. Thanks Figma! However, to change the display order, one has to manually change the order of each item in the Layer section, which can be annoying when dealing with too many items in the layout. A solution would be to add three layout buttons, right below the current ones, that do just that: reverse the order of display. Much love. I hope this helps!
When in a Figma file, I’d like to be able to add a new page that’s a documentation type rather than a design type. The format of the active space would be like word or google docs or something similar, but a document editor with pages and not a free zoom/scroll space. This would help centralize documentation for design systems as well as for product managers and developers to have a more familiar space to put documentation.
Hi Figma team! This is a smaller feature request, nothing revolutionary 😊It would be really great if there was support for searching within a folder or project space. Sometimes I know approximately where a file is/should be, and it’d be helpful to be able to search right from there. General search + filters work, but I would love to see it right at the top in context of where I’m browsing.Great work as always, and thanks for considering!
I’m missing the feature of switching between different word-break values. Figmas default is the browser’s normal. However sometimes, especially for more technical text like links, a break-word: break-all would be a better option. Given that this can be implemented in code, but not visualized in Figma is unfortunate.
Hi I suggest that Figma includes a “Copywriter” permission level, allowing designers to grant edit access to copywriters for text editing only, preventing displacement of elements. This would enhance collaboration between designers and copywriters, who play a vital role on product teams.
I’m working on a presentation in Figma Slides, and I find myself constantly seeking out the selected slide in the sidebar. The blue background and change in text color is too subtle to easily detect without a conscious, focused scan. Please make it more obvious so I can glance and instantly detect the selected slide. The result of this design defect is I often lose my focus state because I need to shift my attention from creating content to analyzing the interface.
Hi,I could love to use figma draw but currently can’t since it’s not available on ipad / tablet. I sometimes draw quick prototypes on figjam, and instead could switch the entire prototype workflow in figma.
Feature Request: Support for hierarchical page structures in the left navigation panel. Currently, pages exist in a flat structure without nesting capabilities.
Guys, would be great if Figma consider to add some or all of these features someday: A tab to see all itens from community that we liked, instead of only showing those that we saved; that gives even more meaning and usage to the like button. Have the option to pin the “view community profile” icon that appears on the top left of the app when we open up our community profile. Maybe add some “scrap page/book” so we can say something to the community members on their profiles just like Orkut did back there in that time
PROBLEM: Currently, if you and a user outside of your team both have paid Figma accounts, and you need the other person to be able to edit your file, you need to pay for A THIRD account. i.e. For TWO freelancers to edit the same Figma file, you need to pay for THREE Figma accounts. This is clearly a terrible customer service experience and I suspect it’s a common issue as you’ll see from Figma’s own Product Support team response below. SOLUTION: The ideal workaround would be to offer free editing when both accounts are paid. Alternatively, if it’s an expensive service to provide, it seems reasonable for Figma to charge a clear fee (e.g. Editing collaboration: $2 per file per month, or $5 per project per month). Please upvote and add to the discussion. For reference, here’s my last message from Figma’s Customer Support, who are clearly trying to help solve this problem: Hey there Paul, Thanks for reaching back out. Again, all editors in your team space are billable to you. Even if Robin
Feature Request: Add a Delete option to the right-click context menu for elements and frames in Figma. Currently, deleting elements requires pressing the Delete or Backspace key, which is difficult or impossible when using Figma in a browser on a device without a physical keyboard (such as a tablet). Adding a Delete button to the right-click menu would make Figma more accessible for users who rely on touch or on-screen keyboards.
We’d love the ability to group a set of animated frames into a named animation group or section, similar to how compositions and grouped timelines work in After Effects. For example, if a project contains multiple scenes, we could select all frames and animations related to one scene and group them as: Slide 1 Animation Invoice Builder Intro Tax Section Send Email Sequence Final Logo Animation The group could then be collapsed or expanded in the timeline, making complex motion projects much easier to organize and navigate.Ideally, this feature would allow us to: select multiple animated frames or layers group them into one animation section give the group a custom name collapse and expand the group in the timeline move or duplicate the whole animation group together clearly separate different scenes or slides inside larger projects We’ve been very happy moving more of our motion workflow into Figma Motion, but once a project grows beyond a few animations, the timeline
As many design tools have an easy toggle to switch the orientation or the values of width and height, we shall have it on figma too between the width and height input fields.
Add the ability for Figma Make to change Figma layers, just like Figma's default agent does (possibly through Skills). I'm currently creating a text layer in Figma that requires a custom text effect. I've noticed an interesting thing: when changing the layer—the container for which Figma Make creates content—during resizing, it automatically adjusts to the frame size (Figma's default animation is shown, and the code reacts to it). However, if this is, for example, a text layer, and the number of vertical lines increases during resizing, Figma Make can't automatically change the container—the Figma layer. That is, Figma Make can understand that the layer is resizing and adapt to this change, but it can't adapt the Figma layer itself (resize it relative to its code). It can only work with the contents of the code layer itself, not with the Figma layer. So, I can't create a code layer that, for example, changes in the same way as the default text container in Figma (which resizes vertical
I want Figma Motion can animate shape in future so i can create more flexible animation for shape. Animate with only path quite good with some case but is hard to do with complex shape like logo, vector drawing, etc.
Hi Figma team,We're a Rutgers MBS externship team building an interactive SDLC prototype for PharmAllies (Professional plan) featuring an animated avatar rendered by an AI video generator. The request: native background removal or chroma-key support for video fills, or at minimum better handling of near-white video backgrounds against canvas fills. Our case: our avatar videos render with a near-white background that visibly mismatches Figma's true-white canvas across monitors. Background-removal tooling is now standard in consumer mobile editors, but Figma offers no path short of external re-encoding to transparent WebM, which breaks a designer-only workflow. A per-video background removal or color-key option in the Fill panel would close this gap for anyone embedding AI-generated video, which is a fast-growing use case.Happy to share screen recordings and sample files.Shounak Singh
I work in BCG, I created an interesting plugin that could fast pace our team’s work. Was not able to share this with team. If feature already exist, can someone please help.
