When making components, you can create a show/hide toggle for people using the component. This used to exist in the appearance pane before the redesign, but is now missing. Where did she go? I am mad, Dylan! 😩

Create a component and then click the object or layer or frame inside. Then you will see the option in the Appearance Menu.
