Ignore variable group names?

Creating your own syntax was one solution that solved this for me, if someone else has similar issue 😀 . Would still be nice with that option though.

+1 to this. It’s not a fantastic separation of concerns, particularly for consumers who want to separate the token name, from how we organise/classify them.

Would love to see an option where the file path can be excluded from the name of the token, as not all token systems are represented in nested JSON environments.

Hello, i’d like to give another +1 to this topic. Having to choose between not organizing your variables in figma or not choosing the semantics of your variables is realy frustrating.

+1, we are facing this issue now where we need the group name to organise the growing tokens, but devs don’t need them as part of their naming convention because they are superflous.

I have dozens of status colour tokens all grouped under Status. When exported the name for example becomes: --status-status-critical. We just want to remove the prefix group name of ‘status’. But we need to retain the real name ‘status-critical’ so our designers can find the right tokens when using the Figma Property panels.
