Eyedropper tool should work outside of Figma window

Blaise

How often do you are using Figma while browsing the web for ideas and want to get some colour in Figma?
Or have reference software open and you want to just use the same colour?
Eyedropper could just let you do it but unfortunately, it is limited to the Figma window currently, meaning you need to get a screengrab or copy the image, paste it to Figma and then pick the colour.
Photoshop have this and it’s one of the first things I noticed missing from Figma.

agree, frustrating

Not only does Photoshop have this feature but so does Sketch and Sketch has had it since 2017. It’s the main feature that Sketch has that I miss every time I open Figima. Please make this feature a top priority.

When using the eyedropper tool, it would be lovely to be able to move the cursor outside the application frame to select a color from another application. This is an extremely helpful tool present in other design applications like Sketch and XD.

Hey All, thanks for your feedback and apologies for the previous lack of acknowledgement!

We’ve reopened this topic and merged a recent, similar request topic here to better gauge overall interest. We’ll pass this onto the team for future consideration.

What is so hard about making this feature. Almost all applications have this, and is practically mandatory for a design app such as Figma

can you please add this feature like ASAP? it does not impact any of the existing ones and makes the product so much better.

I need this too, so I made a Chrome extension for it. (At least until they add this feature.)

I hope it helps someone

(You may need to manually start the extension first, then refresh the page for the first time.)

This is amazing. Every figma user should have this. 👍🏽
