Also an issue for large corps with e-messaging standards. Has been a major headache getting Figma approved by risk.

Yes, please!! We have a system for component library requests and I often find requests (in the form of comments) left by designers IN MY LIBRARY file, or in their working files, even though I’ve told them before (sometimes numerous times) where to post requests. Disabling comments would at least keep them from leaving comments in my libraries and keep the library files neat and uncluttered.
One of my colleagues has also had a stakeholder micro-managing them by leaving comments while they were working. Temporarily removing access might be a solution, but we feel like temporarily disabling comments would keep them from micro-managing while they’re allowed to access the file when they need to reference the designs.

Please add this feature. I’m actually really surprised this isn’t implemented yet.

Please add this feature, I am hearing the echo from 2 years ago…

Stacy_Hottinger

This would be an awesome feature. Please add it in.

Would LOVE for this feature to exist across Figma Design and Figma Slides. For enterprise organizations, we like to share resources but route feedback on the content to other forums. So an evergreen resource or presentation, my design organization would benefit from turning off Comments on specific files and/or projects folders.

Think i’ve found a work around, enable password to login whilst you’re working on it, so no one can access, then turn it off when you’re done. Bit manual but keeps you in control.

Vinicius_Torres_Sanches1

Hi,
I share my materials and not everyone else should comment.

I commented it in other topic: Сlose the ability to leave comments on a layout - #4 by Vinicius_Torres_Sanches1

Some of solutions in this thread don’t help-me. I’d like to block/allow comments for some people, because my stackholders just need see the material. If they need any change, the need talk to me, not put I comment.

I also highly need this!

bump!

We need this feature so badly! End users are constantly tagging people in published component library files. The design system team needs to be able to manage these requests in a different way. Please give us a way to disable comments!

Would also like to weigh in on this one and keep it alive 😅

Our team would really benefit from this feature. We have multiple clients who keep commenting on open projects after the feedback deadline has passed.

We need this feature! Please add it.

We badly need this feature! Commenting shouldn’t be public — it makes no sense.

Martin_Schilde

+1 I need to be able do actively permit comments if I want them. It shouldn´t even be the default honestly. The problem is:

We have to export designs/layouts into a client-file, so they do not mess with us designers while creating. This is already problematic since at times we need to sync two files. Now receiving comments in the “presentation” version ist problematic if we mark part as “ready for dev” in our internal working figma. Our formal way is through project management to provide valuable feedback to clients and sort out any content related changes that do not belong into the design process.

I do not need clients commenting “please finish every sentence with a period, also please change this word everywhere to that word we used in the brochure” and then on top provide feedback.

Late to the party but PLEASE … give us a disable comments button. Especially with the instance of Figma Slides embed decks. It has such great promise as a tool but the ability of random folks to spam comments on a presentation that is publicly shared (and the inability to resize) is a deal breaker.
