If I create a shape or select something and I click the color swatch it should NOT default to “Custom” if I have taken the TIME to create a color LIBRARY! I have a color library, so I probably do NOT want a custom color most of the time. Once a color library has been create, make that the TAB that is the default. 

This may be an edge case for using the hide/show variable, but I’d like to prototype a filtered table that includes more than 2 filters. I can currently control the view of certain rows by swapping to a variant while tagging rows with hide/show for a single data point. Works great. Example:Variants for Date and Time: 24 hrs, past week, past month etc. I can use a variant for eachVariables for each “activity type” - 1 per rowHowever, I’d like to be able to attach more than a single variable to each row component so I can use additional filters in my prototype. Example:Variable for “activity type”Variable for “browser”Variable for “Location”etc. ...I realize I can create further variants for these tables, but it defeats the purpose of using variables to keep things light weight and manageable. :)

Applying a number variable to the width/height of an object with constrained proportions distorts the object, as it only overrides the one number but doesn’t update the proportions of the object. A common instance is when applying a variable to the size of an icon, it will distort the size until the variable is also applied to the other height/width. Expected default behavior would be that when I apply a variable to the width/height of an object with constrained proportions, it resizes the corresponding shape based off the number of the variable just as if I typed the number in manually.

this “mechanic” could be applied to any component that has colour palette

For easier management of boards, I want to be able to bulk select and bulk edit all similar elements in a selection so I don’t have to shift click every single one. For example, in this screenshot I want to select all stickies only to turn on my signature and change their color to blue. Similar to how Miro allows bulk selection of similar elements. But currently in FigJam, that would require shift-clicking into each group onto each sticky to get only stickies selected.

I work for a company that has a hyperlink in their screens, with a color, which is different than the standard white. Now you can edit the color but the problem is, when we choose the color from the library that is included in every page, we do not see the token we created for it, we see the color code.The problem is, if we want to change the accent color of the company someday, which is also the text underline color, we would need to change the text underline color separately. An unnecessary room for error in my opinion.

Hello Figma Team,Our team is currently developing multiple applications and working on multiple design projects within Figma. Because of this, we have a diverse group of collaborators (including stakeholders and non-designers) who need quick access to essential files but can become overwhelmed by the “Recents” view. I’d like to propose the following enhancements: Show Starred Projects in Their Own Rows (in Home View) Within each block, show up to four of the most recently updated files for that project. This makes it easier for stakeholders and non-designers to locate critical projects at a glance, without scrolling through everything else. Hide or Relocate the Large Top Buttons The “New Design File,” “New FigJam Board,” etc. buttons at the top are frequently clicked by accident, often leading to unwanted drafts. They also slow down loading times and occupy valuable screen space. Moving them to a dropdown menu or a smaller icon bar could streamline the interface and reduce uninten

Currently the ‘Add Background’ setting under Prototyping Overlay Settings doesn’t allow to select a color from variables library. It would be prototypes to be more on brand. An in practice, this setting should be universal to the ‘flow’ with allowance to be adjusted on particular interactions. In general, the availability of the color variables has been extremely inconsistent and missing in key places.

When making components, you can create a show/hide toggle for people using the component. This used to exist in the appearance pane before the redesign, but is now missing. Where did she go? I am mad, Dylan! 😩

When the members tab is filtered on devmode, the table doesn’t show the last active column, like for the other products. This makes it harder to review inactive members during the true up period. Can you show the last active column for devmode user too?

In the administration panel, you can manage the default modes for each workspace (image attached). Is there a way instead to also manage the visibility of modes by workspace? Example: The library has ‘Mode 1’ and ‘Mode 2’. For workspace B - we set ‘Mode 2’ as the default mode and prevent Mode 1 from being visible. In a file in that workspace, the designer will only get the library in Mode 2 and will not be able to switch to Mode 1.Thanks 

Feedback on using components in Figma SlidesOn multiple occasions Slides will change the icon used in the component. Example: in a  screen component where I have a nested navigation bar instance that uses icon + text, everything looks proper on the Figma side. Once I copy an instance of the screen component over into slides, it changes the icon to something else. If I break the nested navigation bar instances, the icon now shows up properly on Slides Updating the component on the Figma side does not update the component instance in Slides, forcing me create and instance in Figma and then copy it over to Slides

I’ve always admired the UX & visual design of Figma from day 1, so many years ago. But the new lock/unlock icon is just terrible, I am sorry to say. The tiny arrows is so so so so so small and you can barely barely barely see the difference between lock & unlock. Now i need to hover to know what’s happening/function state. Why did you do this guys? The previous lock/unlock icon worked for years, so why fix something that did not need fixing. Pls revert to the previous icon. Thank you!

Hey guys, random thought—what if Figma had a built-in timer? Like, you start working, hit play, pause when needed, and keep track of your time. Could be useful for managing workflow and even showing clients how long things actually take.What do you think? Would you use it, or is it overkill? 😅

Being able to right-click drag to pan around the canvas seems table stakes for infinite canvas and whiteboard-type products. It would be helpful and easier to be able to do that than trying to use the middle mouse scroll wheel button or holding spacebar.

I would like to make a suggestion for the layout section of figma. A frame rotation function should be implemented by simply clicking an “invert” button from the layout section in such a way that the frame rotates by 90° without changing the frame's rotation indication, in order to avoid incorrect autolayout behaviour and movement of elements within the frame.

The emoji is far too prominent and distracting. I feel like it's laughing at me while I'm working and it’s lowkey annoying.You may change it to something more neutral, like 👍.   

Why is placing images so tedious! It doesn’t have to be this way, Adobe XD makes it SO much easier to place images into a design file. For example you should be able to: Drag and drop images directly into a shape When manually selecting an image, the folder that opens up to select form should be the same folder that was most recently used in that file, so if I am placing multiple images from the same folder, I don’t have to navigate to the folder multiple times We should be able to select multiple images and drop into multiple shapes at once

When working on design iterations, I often need to create new versions of components by duplicating and tweaking existing ones. The problem? Simply modifying the original risks breaking existing instances across my designs.Right now, the workaround is:Create an instance Detach it Convert it into a new componentBut this is a lossy process—it strips away properties and variants, making it harder to maintain consistency and requiring unnecessary manual fixes.What I need is a “Duplicate as Component” feature that creates a true copy—preserving all properties, variants, and interactions—so I can iterate faster without losing key functionality.

Could you please add a time stamp for last edited to the conflicts preview on each branch. It’s practically impossible to recall which of two seemly identical tiny preview designs was the latest. Time stamping, as a basic MVP feature, could help improve the experience radically. Thank you. 

I created several “simulated overlay” menus and would like the option to prevent accidental clicks on content behind the layer. From a UX perspective, I’d like a checkbox option that says “ignore all interactions behind this layer” when the layer is visible.In my case, I am creating a pseudo overlay experience using my own hack method. You create a modal (for example) on a components page. You put an instance of the modal on another page (separation of concerns from components and prototype pages). You then toggle the visibility of the modal instance on the prototype page where necessary. For example, a command menu that is displayed on button click.Why do it this way? Because the default modal/overlay experience is bad. They lack responsive design support, they have to be attached to every component instance on within a page (rather than just on the master component), and they can be buggy from time to time.There are other cases I would also like pointer events turned off, similar to

If we can tag comments to a frame, group or component rather than just the canvas area such that one can simply search comment history for both resolved and active comments by clicking the element.

Google Slides allows this and I love that feature. I can highlight the important things that I must talk about and they catch my attention when sharing my screen. Would be amazing if Figma allowed this as well.
