Screenshot from Figma's right panel, focusing on "Go to main component in library" under a component When using components in my team, I often missclick this link under the instance selector dropdown. Working with my library closed consumes less memory, so that's why I do it - but everytime I hit that button it opens my library and takes me away from the file I'm working on.I work with low DPI (650), so I feel like that my issue isn't about not being able to hit the instance dropdown, but rather the proximity of the click area of the elements.Does anyone feel the same?
Opening and using Figma is no longer joy for me. I only open it out of necessity to fulfill work requirements. While it's commendable that so much quality products are built fast and announced during config, most of them seems useless in real-world. From a world-class company like Figma, I'd expect something like a Cursor IDE that I can enjoy using daily
It was brought up a while ago, but, I think it still makes sense for new frames to have Auto Layout enabled by default. Without it, the development paradigm is “everything is `position: absolute`” and pulled out of document flow. Yes, native (iOS, Android) paradigms approach layout by adding flow but I think Figma is far and away used more for web design.
Hey, Figma team! You're great guys. But could you please allow us to right click the Main Component in a Library, and there's the option, something like "See all instances of this component" so we could see the list of all designs, where this components have been used? Just like we have Right Click > Go to Main component. Like this, but vice versa. In my company there are 50+ pages of designs. And few times a week i need to use some nice component from our enormously huge (like my penis) Component Library. But i don't know how. I want to see examples - how it has been used earlier? So here's what i often do: i screenshot it and post it in our slack and ask if anybody knows how to use that. And if i'm lucky enough, some colleague will answer.I believe it's not the most convenient way.
I noticed with the new update that the GAP and PADDING input nearly look identical. I constantly click on the wrong input to add spacing between a component.
In UI2, when you needed to add a property to a text component there was a button for it just next to a text field, so you when you use variants the text will be easy to change. For some reason someone thought that putting that function under “Apply variables” button (with variant icon) and adding extra steps to access this function will be SO user friendly and so much better. As a software for UX designers, have you even tested it on various UX designers? When you read the amount of complains for new UI update, maybe it’s something you should consider to make your customers satisfy? At least bring back the option to bring back the old UI!
Upgraded to dev seat to get access to plugins, and now I can’t edit? The free tier rules and limits just go out the window?!? This is bullshit. Figma is bullshit.
The lack of bulk downloading for backups is frustrating. This should be an available feature (even if a download link is sent separately for many files). The lack of bulk download paired with CAPTCHA confirmations every 4 minutes is exhausting to do.
Can a Figma Buzz template be published without restrictions? We have custom sized assets and tried to publish a template. Even with blank frames it still said Edit restrictions were applied. Using a Figma template doesn’t seem to have this issue. Is this a bug?
how wtf why figma web so slow and laggy 😭😭⁉️
The create a Figma Slides outline using Figjam is useful, but we need to be able to turn off the AI content fluff which ist adds to the slides because it is generic and meaningless and makes the ideation process harder particularly for neurodivergent people. Adding noisy words that mean nothing make it hard to think conceptually. Creating a presentation can be a great way to organise thoughts and structure ideas. The fluffy content just gets in the way.
Hi, can anyone help me revert this UI in my Figma design file back to the default UI? I’m having trouble figuring out whether certain elements are set as auto layout, frames, or something else. It’s making it harder for me to work. Any tips? T_T
Hey ,Its glad to hear that we have figma dev mode server , well done folks .but there is a problem most of the time i am facing i given a figma frame link it fetched the frame correctly but it generated completly a wrong screen which was not even 1% equavalent to what i gave .i used claude 3.7 model for the generation . Figma generated this screen (output) Figma frame input
Hey guys,I don’t use masking too often, but everytime I use, I am baffled about the lousy UX :)) I mean it’s like nobody gave a flying !@#$ about it :))The mask has to be underneath the masked object. Totally opposite to any form of logic, especially since the mask is alwas smaller than the masked object, so selecting those two has to be done by clicking/dragging over the area to make sure both are selected. That can be a pain in the butt if you have many elements on the frame, and then you have to rely solely on finding the elements in the assets panel. Good lunk with that :)) If you mask an object, you have to probably group it afterwards? Otherwise, if you wanna move it, you’re just moving the masked object behind the mask, while the mask stays in place. Makes perfect sense????!!!! If you wanna edit the mask you have to find it in the assets panel, no click/hover will help you in that situation.I can probably come up with more, but overall it’s such a crappy experience, in total opp
The problem is, I felt like I was being ignored because I had to change from ‘Bent’ to ‘No endpoints’ over 100 times. It was really painful and distracted me from my workflow. I wish I could quickly switch the connector style (Bent, Curved, or No endpoint) by using a shortcut. I could keep on typing “X” when I want to change an optional setting (Bent, Curved, or No endpoint) on the keyboard. It would keep the same settings for the last time I used them (currently, it defaults to ‘Bent’).
Problem:When on design mode, you can move between slides with up+down and right+left arrows. But when presenting you can ONLY move between slides with the right+left arrows, which is un-natural to RTL languages (such as Hebrew).Solution:Adding the up+down arrows option to the present mode can be very helpful here.
アノテーションはとても良く便利で利用してますが、位置が固定されると他のフレームなどに被って邪魔になりがちです。何等かの方法で自由移動できるような仕様ってできますか?コメントのように。
Is there was any particular reason to make “State” an collapsed accordion?Bit annoying to have to expand them for each noodle, every single time I click into it. The options don’t take up much real estate, seems silly to hide. 😤
When I move a component to another file or simply remove one from the library and publish changes, I see a very confusing message “Unpublishing library”, then “Library successfully unpublished”. I only removed one component from the library, but if feels like I am unpublishing the whole library.
"Hello, I noticed that I can embed video files when using Sites, but the videos don't play properly when I preview or publish the webpage. I'd like to ask if this is a bug or an upcoming feature. Thanks."
I really like that Figma has it’s own annotation feature with categorization, properties and so forth. But God damn, why can’t we just copy+paste and move them around like we want to?. It is extremely cumbersome to write the same thing over and over again for each screen and not being able to adjust the position.
This might be seen as human error and no one is supposed to rotate the frame before designing anyway but as I accidentally found this, maybe there’s some sort of measure to ensure that this won’t be an issue. What happen was i created a vertical frame and ironically didnt like it that way so rotated that 90 degree before proceed to create grid to test out the new features. As i added visuals, I quickly found out that the snap to grid feature does not work and it keeps show me 1x1 even if I extended to 1x2 or 2x1. (Image attached) Maybe it’s my bad and I can simply just rotate my frame then every else in it back to 0 degree but I couldn't help but think that there might be better way? Maybe all grid features should work in all orientation or at the least we can alerted if the setup is off. Just a thought, thanks! PS: The feature is incredible, please continue to improve it! Big fan.
Alright, guys FigPals were the best (and weirdest) thing to come out of April Fools’ this year. They follow your cursor, help you design, and love you unconditionally… maybe too much. 👀But here’s the problem—they’re only available for April Fun Week! 😭We can’t let this be just a one-time joke. FigPals deserve to be a permanent feature (with a toggle for those who don’t want constant companionship). That’s why I made a Change.org petition to show Figma how much we want to keep them!👉 Sign here: https://www.change.org/p/make-figpals-a-permanent-figma-featureLet’s make sure our tiny, slightly obsessive design assistants don’t get deleted forever. #KeepFigPals 🩷🐾mr bonkymr bonky
Love the product, recently switched from powerpoint and never switching back. The general compatability just makes figma slides ruthlessly better.I am experiencing a problem, however, with exports being very large in size. Ideally I would like to share sales meeting and pitchdecks with customers and investors but files tend to be larger than the 25mb email limit after exporing as pdfs.Would be neat with some better compression capabilities for figma slides!
