Since Figma Desktop has become noticeably slower and heavier in recent times, any accidental quit can be very annoying, especially with multiple files open. Restarting consumes a lot of power, even on a high-end machine like M4/24GB RAM MBA. This makes it particularly disruptive during meetings while screen sharing, as the app often freezes or lags when reopening, so that's why I find very welcoming to toggle such warning before try to close the app like Chrome/Brave.

Hey @leocdpdesigner — welcome to the Figma Forum, and thanks for flagging this issue with the Figma Desktop App. Sorry to hear about the trouble, this definitely should not be happening.

To help narrow things down, could you check the following?

  • You’re running the latest version of the Figma Desktop App (125.8.8 or later).
  • Do you notice any difference in performance when using the browser version of Figma?
  • Does this happen with a specific set of files or simply across the board?

If everything checks out and the issue continues, we’d like to take a closer look. Our Technical Quality team can review the specific file(s) you’re working in. You can get that started by submitting via this secure form and including:

  1. the link to this Forum post for context
  2. a link to the file(s) where this happens
  3. ‘can edit’ access granted to support-share@figma.com for that file(s)
  4. a screen recording showing the issue in action.

This will help the team investigate and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
