Copying and pasting any component gives a text box stripped of everything but the text of that component

I found similar posts, but they were resolved without any needed fixes. Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • Disabled Chrome extensions
  • Cleared Chrome cache
  • Did hard reboot of Figma tabs and MacBook Pro

This is a new issue as of 2 days ago and has not resolved.

Any component I copy>paste within the same file just copies the text and nothing else.

Note: I will add that this only occurs in one file. And when I paste something in or out from another file, it appears to work.

Hi, I have another bug with copy/paste.

i assigned a string variable to a property of my component but if I copy/paste this component, I can’t see anymore the text of that property.

Example before/after:

NOTE: No problem when duplicate the component, only when I use copy/paste.

I run into the exact same issue as @Sebastien_Danguy. I’ve attached string variables to a lot of components (also components from our design system - in a different file) and when I copy and paste a component, the text box would be blank and I can’t see or reattach a string variable in the right side panel. Weird and really frustrating… and making the string variables unusable for my use case: being able to switch between different languages in my designs.

Have you found a solution to this issue? It’s been bugging me for 2 days now.

I have not. I just started a new file and moved on from that file. I assume it was corrupt or some corrupt component that I copied from another file, so I just cleaned house on that file.
