Text formatter bug for Czech date format

In Czech Republic, we write dates as following: 21. 3. 2025 (spaces needed for formal format)

But Figma changes this plain text to a numberred list, 21. being the marker, 3. 2025 being the editable text. And if I change it back in “type setting”, the “21. “ marker is gone. And there is no way to edit it. It also makes some padding and spacing changes.

It’s very frustrating.

Hi @Stepan_Rysavy , Thank you for letting us know about the issue with the date format (dd. mm. yyyy).

I understand how frustrating it is when Figma incorrectly converts the date format to a numbered list, making it difficult to properly enter and edit dates.

Could you please try following to remove the numbered list formatting?

  • Selecting the text layer >  Use the keyboard shortcut [Command + Shift + 7]

Alternatively, you can also try changing the “List style” under the "Basic" tab in the “Type settings” with selecting the text layer.

This guide has some more details in the "Numbered lists" section: Create bulleted and numbered lists

We hope this helps! Thanks again for reaching out.

Hi, thanks for replying. Unfortunatelly non of these work. And I don’t know if there is some new update, but now it even rewrites the numbered list, when typing the month section:

And when I press CMD+Shift+7 to remove the list, only the 2025 remains.

Can there just be a switch in app settings to turn the autoreplacement off? (best, to be opt-in)

As a designer, I want to be in control.

Now I have no way to write the date, not even with ALT+SPACE for non-breaking space.

Hi @Stepan_Rysavy, Thanks for getting back to us and sorry to hear the issue still persists.

I'll open a support ticket on your behalf, so one of our specialists can take a closer look and assist this matter for you.

Please keep an eye on your inbox—you'll soon receive an email about the new ticket, likely with a subject line like "Follow-up from Figma Support," sent to the current email address we have on file.

Thank you for sharing the video. It appears that the recording mainly focuses on the problematic text box.

To help our support specialist more effectively reproduce the issue and pinpoint its cause, could you please reply to the ticket with a video that shows all the Figma windows along with detailed steps to reproduce the problem?

Thanks again for your patience and cooperation.
