Thank you so much! Will that keep the component name and all links to it from other files connected?
I wonder why the Figma team doesn’t let us delete the only property by using the -- button. Would be easier and more straight-forward than this work-around.

Connections won't be lost. The component name was a slightly changed, but you can rename it back
