I use variables mainly to store string values related to copies that I wrote in my appToday I found that the search function is not working, whenever I tried to search for something it does nothing. The issue persist across files.is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

I can’t verify my student plan.

I’ve been using this plugin for quite some time to import JSON translation packages into Figma variables and it works great. What I did was to convert the structured JSON into Flat JSON with “/” delimiter (as the figma variables support), then import the flattened JSON using the plugin into my figma variables. resulting in a structured figma variableshttps://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1342144412728651309/language-variables result For some reason recently Figma variables unable to import all the text in the JSON files, sometimes some lines are missing, sometimes it does not import anything at all JSON structure is the same, the process still the same.

Hi, I’m unable to access my Figma Education Plan. I submitted my verification through SheerID, but it’s been delayed and I haven’t received any confirmation yet.I’ve also contacted SheerID support, but they said they’re experiencing high request volumes. Because of this, I can’t activate or use my education plan on Figma.

Hello everyone,For the past few months, I’ve been noticing a recurring issue with Figma: after each update, some elements in my designs (like text or buttons) disappear or revert to an earlier version. I’ve checked the version history, and there’s no intervention from my team. This issue occurs on both my professional and personal accounts, and even on designs that haven’t been modified in a long time, sometimes over two years.When I look at exported versions (whether as images or on Zeplin), these errors weren’t present before the update and the export. This suggests that the problem isn’t due to my own oversight, but rather a bug.The issue is quite problematic because it forces me to double-check and correct these designs before every client or internal presentation. Hello,I’m trying to enable Gemini 3 Pro in Figma Make, but the “Experimental models” section isn’t showing up in my Settings menu. I’m using a education account. I checked in both the browser and desktop app. I’m working inside a Figma Make file, not a regular design file. My admin has enabled AI features for our team. I’ve refreshed the page and restarted Figma, but the Experimental models toggle still doesn’t appear. Is this feature being rolled out slowly, or is there something I need to adjust in my workspace or team settings? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hey Figma Heads!I’ve noticed that some of my icons have holes in the circles where they’re not supposed to (e.g., in images). Does anyone know how to fix this issue while keeping everything in a single vector and maintaining a consistent stroke size?It seems like the problem might be caused by the stroke breaking into negative space when overlapping itself.The last image shows what it’s supposed to look like. So i have a file called Global Copy Library which houses all of my written copies in string variables. It is published as a libraryWhen I work on a project file I would add the global copy library file into the project’s libraryThis allows me to “recall” the copy values from the variables in the global copy library file directly into the project file, effectively reusing the copies I’ve created before, somethin like this Let’s say i have a button in the project file that i want to label it as a Save button, I will pull the “Save” copy variable from the global copy library and attach it in the button text property, then the button will be labeled “Save”If i made a change in the “Save” string variables in the global copy library file, let’s say “Save” changed into “Keep” then i publish the c

Hello,  I am education verified, but some of the students I work with are not. For them, I have used open sessions when we have live class activities. For some reason, it’s not working anymore. It keeps telling them that they have no editing access even when the first message that comes on their screen is that they can add text, draw, and add images on the figjam. Yet last week it was working. It has disrupted a lot of activities. Please help me out.  Also, I thought that even if someone is not education verified they can still edit a file but will lose access within a week? Kindly clarify that for me. 

I am experiencing an issue with the Figma for Education plan related to my student account and verification limits. Long story short this entire process has been confusing. I previously verified for the Figma Education plan through SheerID last month (October 2025). Now last week, I deleted the account that had the Education plan because I wanted to re-verify under a different edu account that I have on Figma. After deleting the original account, I expected the verification to reset—but it didn’t.I tried remaking the Figma account I deleted with the education plan but now both of my accounts are stuck on the Starter plan, and I can’t re-verify because Figma shows “Verification Limit Exceeded.” SheerID says my verification is active on the account I deleted. I contacted SheerID, and here is what they said:SheerID only handles the verification process.My verification is approved on their end, but each person can only verify once every 335 days.T

I’m encountering what appears to be a billing bug related to the Professional (monthly) plan.Here is what happened, step by step, without revealing any personal or financial information: I purchased the Professional plan with full seats on Oct 17. My coworker also purchased a Professional plan separately for their own account. I created a team and invited a collaborator to work on a project. Before the paid month ended, I cancelled the Professional plan around Nov 1, well before renewal. After cancellation, my account correctly showed the Free plan and no active subscription. However, on Nov 11, I received a new charge of $20, for the same plan period as the previous billing cycle — even though I had cancelled and was already downgraded.

We currently use Appetize in our organisation as our product to demo our native apps - link. Which is great way for designers to stay up to date with the latest changes in production. However, it doesn’t provide a more holistic way to look at your app, ie more like a flow chart view of all screens across the different navigation tiers. A full IA map or flow chart if you will with all screens mapped out in order to identify any pain points / gaps within user flows or identify opportunities for new features, new components and identify old legacy components, etc etc. Especially to build up a view of where new compoments are being adopted across the app as different development / product teams ship the new components. Especially when it comes to a rebrand, ie to get a view of what percentage of the app has adopted the new brand vs not.

Is the Apple Macbook Air 13 M4 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD slowing down when working with 20 layouts in the Figma compared to the Apple M4 Pro (14C CPU, 20C GPU), 24 GB RAM, 1024 GB SSD?Where is it more comfortable for you to work when comparing Air and Pro?

Recently, it seems that now interacting with prototypes in the Notes view of presentation mode in Figma Slides does not reflect what the audience is seeing in their view of the presentation. I have to move my cursor away from my notes to the audiences view of the slides and interact with the prototype there. This seems like a bug to me. It was not performing this way last week. Additionally, another update that seems to have happened at the same time is that prototypes in Slides load automatically and do not need to be clicked on to load, this is OK, but in my use case, i wanted 2 prototypes on the screen at once (Before & After versions), and having them load at the same time causes confusion. Having an option to load immediately or start on click would be helpful. 

I have applied for the student plan. After few day, I got an email stating my student account is verified. But when i login to my account it is not updated and i am still in free plan instead of student plan. If any one knows anything about this issue please do share and help me to resolve the problem.Thanks 

Hi all,I’m very new to Figma/Make and I’m stuck with a duplication issue.I have a fairly large prototype file. When I try to Duplicate it, Figma hangs for a while and then shows the message “Duplicate failed” and no copy appears.What I’m seeing: File feels slow/laggy while editing. File → Duplicate → long wait → “Duplicate failed” → no new file. What I’ve tried: Reloading Figma and my browser (Chrome on macOS). Waiting for “All changes saved” before duplicating. Trying to duplicate just a single page / copy–pasting frames into a new file. As a beginner, I’m not sure if this is a file size/complexity limit, a Make bug, or something I’m doing wrong.What’s the best way to get a backup copy of this file when normal duplication

Figma branches are repeatedly failing in ways that block design system work and compromise the reliability of library updates.Key issues observed: Library updates continuously reappear When creating a branch, Figma shows “updates to the library” that have already been resolved. These same updates reappear over and over, even after being accepted in previous branches. Merged work does not appear in the main file After merging a branch, the new work doesn’t show up in the canvas—even though it does exist. Using Cmd + Y reveals the updated content, but it remains invisible in the main file. We’re seeing a recurring issue in Figma where files get stuck in a constant “syncing” state and fail to properly save changes. This creates several workflow blockers: Severe lag while working — interactions become slow or unresponsive during sync. Unable to close the browser tab — Figma prevents closing due to “unsaved changes,” even when everything should be saved. Version history overload — the system generates excessive versions because of the repeated auto-sync attempts, making the file history cluttered and harder to audit. Hello everyone.I seem to have the same problem as in this post from two years ago : https://forum.figma.com/ask-the-community-7/video-not-able-to-be-prototyped-as-child-instance-of-component-26684?tid=26684&fid=7.I copy a video to my assets page. I make it a component using CTRL+ALT+K. I go to my work page where I paste this component, then I go to the interactions (prototype). I want to play it on click, but in the video dropdown menu, my video is grayed out, so I can't select it as the target for my playback action.If I copy the same video to my work page (without it being a component), the video isn't grayed out (interactions in prototype).Can you tell me why? Is it simply that videos can't be components that would allow the use of prototype and interaction fun
