I am pushing updates from my design system and when updating the instances in external files I am not seeing changes. For context, I had some cards with an outline in my design system, I have now removed these outlines and updated various times in the other file and still I am not seeing the outlines disappear. I have even tried the ‘repair component connections’ command I have seen in other posts and that has not worked, even though it said it repaired various connections. After pushing another update after this was done the outlines are still on the cards. What is the point in the design system if I can’t make changes at the source? Now I have to remove the outlines from each individual card in my other file, this is very frustrating. 

Hello fellows, i have designed below illustrator and wanted to digitize it on the back of a t-shirt and maybe on cap. Do you guys know anyone to do that for me? free or paid maybe? 

I have free access to figma through my university email. My university email will expire around 12 months from my graduation (12 month grace period). I will be graduating in mid-december. Does that mean I’ll have access to figma till atleast the end of this year? I was planning to pay for a yearly subscription starting Jan 1 on my personal email acount. But I also dont want to risk losing my files that are currently on my Uni account.

During Figma Schema 2025 they announced upcoming support for extended variable collections and native variable export/import conforming with the DTCG token specification.It was announced during this session: Here is a screenshot of what they were proposing:An update to the app dropped a few days ago with extended collections but I cannot find how to export variables to JSON (without using a plugin).I don’t have the “Export modes” option in my dropdown menu, even with our Enterprise account.Has anyone got that feature and how do you do it?

The instructions page for saving a local copy does not mention this anywhere. But I’m wondering what “save partial file” actually does. I had always assumed that it would at least save the variables, but not any image assets. But I would like confirmation on this. Sometimes I clone a file just for the variables (dont need all the other stuff in it) and I use “save partial file” to do this quickly. Is this a safe assumption or??

HI everyone. I’m trying to play with new extended collection. Suggested workflow mentions to EXPORT current modes, delete them and then re-import them into Extended collection.  The issue is that I do see Extended collections, so the feature has been propagated to my account, but I dont see Import / Export mode functionality in the contextual menuAny Idea?

When I move a design from Figma Design into Figma Make using an attached library and then bring the design back to Figma Design, all the components and tokens I previously used return as raw values, not as system tokens or components. Is there any way for Figma Make to preserve the library tokens and components? Otherwise, when importing the design back into Figma Design, I need to reassign all the components and tokens manually.

Hi Figma team I’m a paying user on a Full-seat account, and I’ve installed the correct Figma Desktop App (version 125.10.8). Still, I do not see any AI / Make / MCP options in my sidebar or menus. I’ve confirmed that I’m not on an Education plan and that my seat type qualifies.Could you please check whether my account or workspace has been enabled for Figma AI / MCP features? I have a task that I’m looking to simplify as much as possible yet I'm struggling to find a solution. We are creating designs of static digital display banners, in lots of different sizes. I then have to present these in a Figma slide deck so that stakeholders can review. We create display banners in several different languages once that master deck has been approved.As the banner designs often require changes, I’d like to link them from a separate design file, so that when we make any changes, we can auto update them in the master deck. I know we can just make them into components and publish as a library etc. However, once we get one deck approved, I then have to do a new version for all the display banners to be done in a different language. So a new design file (for a different language) and a new deck, and I cannot see a way of doing this without basically starting the deck from scratch each time? Hey everyone!Our team has built a multi-brand design system that supports three different brand themes, each with both light and dark modes.All our icons are created as unions. This helps preserve the color override when an icon is swapped inside a component. For example: all icons use the “icon” color variable by default, but within a success inline message component, the icon is overridden with the “icon-success” color variable (green), as the icon should always be green in that context. Swapping, say, a checkmark icon with “icon-success” applied for a shield icon retains the correct “icon-success” variable. So far, so good.However, when we re-theme the inline message component from Brand 1 to Brand 2, the icon switches to a different brand-specific variant from the icon component set. Here’s where things break: in component instances, the color override (“icon-success”) is lost during this brand switch, and the icon falls back to the default “icon” c

I am getting a message that says “Library assets may need to be republished for modename mode to show.” There is also a little icon next to the mode name in all of my files when selecting a palette mode. We use a single design system file that has all of our variables and the other palettes don’t seem to have the same problem. The error message is not very helpful and I have cleaned up all of the files and resolved everything I can find but this message never goes away. Can anyone help me understand what is going on? I have included a couple of images as an example of what I am seeing.

Hi, I’m trying to import some .fig files and am getting an “Internal error during import” message whenever I try to import them. I tried importing on both the desktop app and the browser version and get the same error each time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was editting a page in Figma make and whej I asked it to “undo” something it undid all the work that I had input and sorted. Please help!   

I’m suddenly unable to edit any text layers in Figma, across all files, pages, and even brand new files—affecting both my main and secondary accounts.This has been posted by someone else previously BUT the fix that worked for them does not work for me.Please help, I have clients waiting for amendments that I cannot do for them
