Share modal not loading to grant persmissions

When clicking “share” the modal is not fully loading…both from within a file and from the files overview page.

Side note - the reason i am doing this at all, is because all these files are in a “read only publicly visible Figma project” with hundreds of viewers.
I want to grant permission to a team member to edit files in this project but it seems (when searching here on the forum) that if a project is set to “read only” setting edit access on that level to an individual won’t work … seems illogical to me.

Hey @DNLBTLR, thank you for reaching out! I can double check this internally with the team if it’s an expected behaviour that the share model is not loading.

Can you please confirm if you’re the owner of the project? The owner of the project can invite someone to the folder directly or remove the view only status from the project.

Reminder the projects permission of view only will override your team level permissions, so this can be only done by the project owner.

Hey @DNLBTLR, apologies for the delayed response! I’ve for the confirmation that this is
definitely not an expected behaviour.
Can you let me know if this is happening in the browser, the desktop app or both?
Can you clear out the cache and try to force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window (or force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it.)

Please let me know if that resolves your issue, if it doesn’t I can create a support on your behalf.
