Hey @Oleh_Ulasyuk, thanks for flagging this and sorry for the trouble it has caused!
Are you able to share example files where this occurs with us? If so, please send over a screen recording or provide URL links.
Does this happen to other collaborators, or are you the only one affected?
Can you please try clearing your desktop app’s cache to see if that helps?
Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on a Mac:
- Quit the Figma desktop app
- Open Terminal.app and enter the following command:
rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/”{Desktop,DesktopProfile}
- Try opening the desktop app again
Lastly, can you check your activity monitor CPU usage and see if there are any processes using a large amount of CPU? Try quitting and restarting those processes or close out of any application that might be running in the background.
Hey @dvaliao, thanks for you response. I’ve cleared he cache a couple of times - no luck. Unfortunately, I can’t share my working files or screen recordings.
However I tested with Activity monitor opened.
So when not sharing:
WindowServer while moving dragging in Figma goes up to 80%
Figma Helper 20-40%
Processes when not sharing
When start sharing:
WindowServer goes over 100%, like about 130%
Figma Helper goes up to 85%
Processes when sharing
Thanks, @Oleh_Ulasyuk!
I’ll file a bug report on your behalf, and I’ll provide an update from the team as soon as I hear back.
Hey @Oleh_Ulasyuk, thanks for your patience!
The team took a look, and they believe that this issue is likely an MS Teams related issue.
We made an update to UI3 today, and everyone should now have fixed panels. The floating panels seemed to be related to a lot of recent performance issues in the desktop app.
Please try using the desktop app again, and let us know if anything has improved. If not, since you expressed that things work better using the browser and UI2, we encourage you to continue using those options as a workaround.
This is definitely a MS teams realted isssue since some update. I also have the problem with other tools that require graphic system resources (e.g. frame0, conceptboard, …)
@Michael_Kalus no is not MS related @dvaliao we are experiencing this issue too with google meets in Chrome while working in Figma and in general even without doing calls UI is soo lagging that can’t be used
All Intel based macs after sequoia update
Using safari as browser solve the problem but you can’t use the desktop app
I’m facing a similar issue. I’m also on Sequoia and agree with the comment above, while the issue is more pronounced when I’m on a MS teams call, files are lagging even when teams is not on.
Have raised an issue here and tried all the steps the Figma team suggested, but no difference.
While I noticed using Figma in the browser rather than the app made a slight improvement, it was only marginal and still pretty bad. I’ll try using it on safari and see if it makes a difference or I’ll go back to the previous OS.
Has anyone else been able to solve this issue?
Hi @Mihir,
Our apology for the performance issue. Could you submit a bug report detailing the steps that led to this issue? You can do so by following the link: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041468234-Submit-a-bug-report
Thanks,
Toku
Having the same issue for so long time that I’m surprised this hasn’t been fixed yet. Google Meet, MacOS Sequoia 15.2
Having the same issue with trying to share screen with MS Teams and Figma, it becomes completely unusable in MacOS (Sequoia). I can however confirm that this seems to be not an issue when using Figma on Safari and it works as you would expect on the desktop app or other browsers.
So for anyone experiencing this same problem, the temporary fix is: share screen while using Safari for Figma.
Hoping however this is solved soon as I primarily work through the desktop app.
I’m also seeing this issue on Mac Sequoia with an M1 2021 MacBook Pro on Arc (chromium ) browser while on Microsoft teams
facing figma lagging issue during teams presentation, please lead me to some fixes ?
