Can variables reliably be used to select which variant is used for a component when the instance is nested within another component instance? E.g. Screen Header – Logo (variant = BrandA) Screen Header – Logo (variant = BrandB) I am finding that using a variable to set which variant is to be used for an instance that is nested does not reliably load. Or does it only fail when there are mode conflicts, and if so, how to resolve mode conflicts? Have tried following this reference without success yet:Figma Learn - Help Center Any ideas @Gleb , @tank666 or anyone else? Thanks, Martyn

These are the component list I build for one report 8 screen common filter slicers. But when we run the pages and click on slicer show hide and tab switch the filter dropdown get swapped and changed the instance. Actual I build with this flow - But when I switched the tab then it get misplaced.

My team and I are trying to get the enterprice version of Figma because it has a feature we need… …but we can’t get it without speaking to a sales person. WHY AREN’T THE SALES TEAM AT FIGMA RESPONDING TO US? Its been nearly 2 weeks and we’ve had no response. Anyone else having issues getting in contact with them? This is really frustrating.

I never came across this issue on OSX its only since I’ve been using Windows 11 fulltime. Basically when using the app I sometimes hit the Windows key between CTRL and ALT and the start menu pop-ups sometimes (thats fine), but then once back focused on the Figma desktop app, many keys stop working e.g. “X” “C” “V” “CTRL” “H” … just a bunch of random keys won’t respond. At first I thought it was something to do with a conflicting app I had installed, but it seems quite odd as I have a pretty clean/fresh build of Win11 with not many apps installed. Figma version: 124.2.9

Hey ! I want to allow a customer to view and change text in a file. The file uses components from an internal component library (design system), and even with view only access and with the Advanced Viewers can copy, share and export option turned off, the ‘customer’ can duplicate the entire component library to his drafts. Seems like a IP hole to me. I can just share prototype links, but then customer will have to screenshots. Suggestions welcome 🙂

For whatever reason, I have a client where one of the designs on the team is unable to use the text styles in the design system I’ve created. When they choose a style to apply, it just does nothing. If there was a style applied already by another designer, it just remains at that one. If there was no style to begin with, it just doesn’t get applied. Typography variables for font family and weight also appear crossed out (see attached). One other team member had this issue, and it was because they didn’t have the font installed, that was fixed by installing it. But this member does have the font installed, and yet they are still having issues. Any ideas?

I don’t want to give them editing permissions, but only allow them to browse. I also want them to be able to see the connection status between different sections. However, the reality is that the prototype shared with developers is a preview state, and the connection structure cannot be seen. You can only jump by clicking, which is not intuitive for the global structure display.

I usually have layers/assets panel on the left and design/prototype panel on the right. But I’m currently doing something that would be easier if they were next to each other. Going through layers and swapping the Auto-layout orientations, alignments, horizontal and vertical resizing selections. Do these capabilities already exist?

I opened my style guide file today and noticed that any of my fonts using the ‘Portrait text’ family have been updated to ‘Porter Sans Block’. I didn’t make this change and have looked through the version history which shows no sign of edits from other team members or myself, it seems as though this might be a bug? When I look at the style being applied to elements within the UI, the font is still correctly displaying as ‘Portrait text’ on the canvas but showing as ‘Porter Sans’ in the styles panel. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi, I tried searching for this but couldnt find a answer. My appologies if I missed a thread where this was already discussed. I’m having issues using the “Export Frames to PDF” function that is built into Figma. When I try to open the PDF in Acrobat, I get a little error pop up that says that “The File is Damaged but it is being rebuilt.” I let Acrobat do it’s thing, but then when I go to the Advanced Optimization setting to compress the file (I’d rather do it this way than use a plugin), It says I need to save the file, but then I cant, because it says that the file is “read only” even though no other instances of the PDF are open. It’s not a huge deal, and I have found a work around. ( just close the Figma and the PDF and then repoen the PDF and for some reason, I am then able to save the PDF and then use the optimization settings to compress the file). But it seems a little buggy. Any ideas why this might be happening? Like I said, not a huge deal, just a little annoying, especiall

Maybe this makes sense for certain photos, but if you care about what parts of an image are included in the crop, it makes no sense to crop from the centre. I’m sure holding command and scaling an image used to just crop the side of the image you were scaling from. Now it scales / crops from the centre, like you might expect it to if you were holding cmd + option + scaling. This is one of a few issues with scaling / holding cmd that I’m having recently, I’ve also found that holding cmd+ scaling a frame is inconsistent in whether or not it ignore constraints

When I search for an plugin using the search bar within the resources section it take ages to give me a result even with a high speed internet connection. Some time it take ages to even close the resource panel once I search for a plugin. I am not sure how to solve this is. More context: I am using latest Figma app on a new macbook air M2

So I’m thing out variables and tried using a String variable to change pages. When I change the value manually everything happens as it’s supposed to, but when I actually press the button it changes the text inside of the button to the default text from the button’s component. I don’t understand if this is my fault or not since this has never happened when using the older methods, either making a frame for each page or using interactive components. Hi Everyone! I need to resize my posters for a variety of sizes (such as 100 sizes). I’m wondering if there’s a way to automate the process or if there are any available APIs or scripts.

Tried a bunch of options but couldn’t make it work. I need to change states for 4 components. If I use ‘set variable’ and animate it, the transitions happen of after the other which doesn’t work for me. Is there any way to make they trigger at the same time? Another option would be using ‘set variable mode’ which I would actually prefer, but then in that case I can’t make smart animate work at all. Anyway, would love any ideas on how to make this work 🙂

Figma does not sync Windows 11 installed fonts Ask the community Can someone help me? Everytime I close a browser tab, all my newly installed fonts are gone. It’s the same when open in app. i have the exact same problem: with win11 the fonts are not syncing with Figma. after every reboot of the pc i have to reinstall all my fonts i’m using in Figma. then they are recognized again. this happens in the browser AND on the app. i tried to delete all of the fonts, reinstalling the Figma font service, trying without the font service just in the app… the problem persists. the font itself is not the problem because on windows10 and on mac i can use it without a problem.
