I am exporting a Figma file in PDF, and the gradients on the font show up as solid color on the preview of the file (see the screenshots of how it’s supposed to look like and preview below). Need this project exported properly ASAP, can someone help and tell me what’s the issue and how to make sure the gradient shows up properly? Much appreciated!
I’m working on a system that will run on a 2x3 multi screen monitor, and would like to prototype it displaying different frames on each screen. Is that possible? Link to example monitor here - https://images10.newegg.com/ProductImage/24-001-429-04.jpg Only way I can figure out so far is very manual - export the frames then place an image of each frame onto the corresponding screen, then present that single device screen. Will work, but nowhere near as cool to show off.
Hi, Please could someone tell me how to disconnect 2 shapes as per image. Thank you!
Hi everyone. I wonder what size the bullet that use in Figma? Does it use as % from font size or just use same as font size? Because when developer use bullet as %, the result turn out that same font size with difference bullet size.
Hi all, it seems like some of my design content went past the vertical limit on my Figma canvas. I’m not sure how the canvas would have allowed me to put anything beyond its boundary, but now I can’t retrieve the content since I can’t scroll up far enough. The scroll bar indicates that I have room to scroll vertically, but I am being blocked from doing so, like I hit an invisible wall. Is there any way to retrieve that content that I can’t currently access? I have restarted Figma a few times, but have not deleted my app cache yet. Any thoughts on troubleshooting would be much appreciated!
Hi! I’m creating a design system and building a Figma library for it. I can’t seem to find any info on how to handle ‘inverted’ color situations. I don’t mean a system-wide or application-wide dark mode, I just mean when components are placed on darker backgrounds within an otherwise light-mode context. I’ve seen other design systems include it in their documentation (e.g. use the inverted color variant when a button when placed on a strong background), but I rarely see anyone doing it in Figma, be it in the Variables or the Components. Is everyone just switching modes on the frame level to handle these cases? Is that bad practice when it comes to collaboration with dev? Should I be making inverted variants for my components? This would basically double the number of variants…help! I currently have inverted color tokens as part of my light mode token set. But this basically doubles my tokens.
I am working on a ‘quiz’ type project, just starting to play around more with variables and conditionals so that my prototype can be more life-like for demo. I made the options in the quiz so that only one answer can be selected at a time, I also made it so that the next button could only be activated and used if an answer is selected. I was having issues that if ‘variable 2’ was selected on frame 1, then on frame 2 it would still be selected automatically instead of reset to default as it should be. I checked reset component state: But the issue is still persisting and I cant find any other solution other than setting conditions on every next button that says if nextbutton is equal to true navigate to {next frame} and set variable 1,2,3… etc. to false. Is there any easier way to fix this? If I go with this long solution it wont remember which was selected on the page if user navigates to previous page, but I would prioritize reseting the buttons on the next page over it remembering
Hi, i have a frame with input text and a textarea. In Protoytpe mode it is not possible to enter text in these fields. is that normal or should it be possible or is it a pro feature? thanks daniel
I am trying to learn how to use Figma, when it comes to Text part, I don’t find the option to adjusing the paragraph spacing like others do in the video, how should I adjust it?
Hey, I have some duplicate screens in my Figma file and I frequently need to update them. Rather than having to update each duplicate screen individually, is there a way to create a “master” screen design that functions like a component? In other words, if I make updates to the master screen, those changes would automatically apply to the duplicate screens. Is this a possibility? Thanks!
It seems a little inconsistent but why is it that sometimes when updating a component by addions (and not deleting or replacing anything) that the update overrides copy or settings to the components Specific example: I created a card component with a simple layout heading, instance swap area and options like scroll and pagination as booleans. I went on using the card and came across scenarios where I aslo needed a search bar- so I went to add it and gave it a boolean as well. My issue: Receiving the update in my design file overrode all my card heading’s copy to the default. Why is that if I literally only added a new element? I can understand having to go and turn off the new search boolean on my existing copies (although I think more could be done to help avoid that it does seem avoidable- I would rather go turn it on in the places where )
Hi all. The following arrow design was created. exportAsync() was used to retrieve the arrow image. The following image shows it. How do I get an image that is not missing?
Hi all, Where can I find more information about the difference between “viewer” and “viewer-restricted”? I’ve found some topics in this forum but they were all unanswered and closed.
Curious if anyone can recommend a technique, or perhaps this is a feature request. I’m using a base design system with color variables (Material 3) and light/dark mode. I want to create a local variable for my project to handle an exception to the design system (a completely different variable is assigned in light vs dark mode, but both variables belong to the design system). Currently, I can only do this by using a second, local mode. It’s especially frustrating, because I’m not able to change the parent frame’s mode if the local variable isn’t a visible child (ie, it’s part of a state layer that appears on hover in a prototype). If I were to broaden the request, I guess it’s something like “more modularity and inheritance options for library/local variables”
Im exporting frames from Figma jam board into a PDF file each, when I importing the PDF into Powerpoint the first two frames look fine, the second two frames which I wider are cut off. When I open the PDF it displays fine, at the correct width no cropping. I’ve tried adding more height to the frame in Figma which did not help. I’ve also tried to add another object on the far right where the cropping occurs, but that did not help either. How can I eliminate this cropping issue? When I open the exported PDF file in Acrobat it says: “The dimensions of this page are out-of-range. page content might be truncated” There are no page size settings on the Figma export dialog box. The issue is similar to https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/the-dimensions-of-this-page-are-out-of-range-page-content-might-be-truncated/td-p/12506917
I update a component, it doesn’nt respond instantly, so I press it again. But after the first press the component update kicks in and displays the next one to be updated and this button is accidentally pressed.
I’m following along with the variant video, and I have made a basic component, but the “Variants” option is not available in my properties panel for some reason. My Figma is up to date (124.2.9). Do I need to do something to get it to show?
Hi everyone, I’m currently working on a project at a large company where we use a comprehensive design system with predefined components, color variants, and variables. The project I’m on, however, uses a different color style that isn’t currently incorporated into our main design system. I need to apply our existing design system to this project but can’t alter the original color schemes within the design system. I want to use my own color palette, including specific hover states and other styles, without interfering with the established system. Is there a way to apply a third-party color palette to the existing design system components without modifying them directly? Currently, when I upload a design system component, it retains its original colors, and I find myself needing to override these manually. Any tips or tricks on how to manage this more efficiently? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Hello Figma Friends! I have created a multi-step wizard for an event registration modal and I need some advanced wisdom on how a Figma expert would expand the modal to over 6 steps. How would you build the components structure so it fits into a design system that other designers could easily use if they needed to make, say, a 10-step registration form?
Hi all, I have noticed recently that some of the shared links I am sending out can’t be viewed in Edge and then some that are using Chrome are seeing the prototype correctly in the device frame but then on some pages of the prototype it displays all warped but there is no difference between pages and looks fine when view directly in Figma. Is there any known issues with presentation mode or bugs regarding which browsers to use etc? Attached is screenshot of example: Thanks Simon
Hi there I have signed up to Figma with the hope that I could transfer my Jamboards over and use the tools on here instead. However, when using the import function, I just get a continuous whirring wheel - no luck! Anyone with any advice on how to resolve? Thank you
In my opinion a BUG. While there’s two conditional interactions with a “set variable” with the same variable and value pair, when drag and dropping an additional interaction for reorganising sequence of events, things gets duplicated. In my specific example I have two conditional interactions with the same set variable [Red] to “dark” inside. If I had another interaction inside either conditional interactions and reorganise the order, interactions starts to get duplicate in the other conditional element. See video:
Hi everyone! For some users, the issue has been fixed by upgrading to the newest version on Chrome. Can you try upgrading to the newest version and check if the same issue occurs? (The newest is Version 124.0.6367.93 at the moment). Here is an article how to Update Google Chrome - Computer - Google Chrome Help.
New Figma user here, once I export from Figma, got un webflow and for a couple of screens, it has took about 3 hours, this is the third attempt… Any suggestions…? This make me feel that it is not a good idea to get the paid version of Figma Thanks
When I copy a object in wrapped auto layout the object pasted in previous auto layout
