Is there a version of “on click” that can be initiated by a long press? When using “while pressing” to open a menu, as soon as the user lets go the menu disappears, so they can’t actually use the menu (only display it briefly). If there isn’t a way to simulate this, would love there to be. It’s a fairly common pattern these days.

Hello, thanks for reading. I am trying to get the hang of creating tables in Figma, I’m using this tutorial: How to Create Data Tables in Figma: Best Practices and Figma File | Untitled UI. I realise this was written before the last Figma UI update, but I thought the functionality of, in this case, Auto Layout would remain the same so I would be able to puzzle it out. But I’m at step 18 of the tutorial (Make your table component responsive) and I haven’t been able to replicate the step. The tutorial says: ‘While you have the entire table component selected, switch the width from hug contents to fixed width. Then, press enter to select the child layers (Table header and Content). In the Frame properties section, switch the horizontal resizing to fill container’ When I change the horizontal resizing to fill container, my table looks like the screenshot at the bottom. Hello Community, I want to show an overlay when I click a button and close it when I click outside the overlay. The overlay has a transparent design, so I want to hide the button to open the overlay while the overlay is open. With opening the overlay, this is no problem for me, I simply set a variable to hide the button with the click interaction on the button. However, I have trouble showing the button again when I close the overlay. It seems that there is no function to specify an action when the overlay is closed? I also haven’t found a clean workaround, although I’ve done quite a bit of research. Adding a transparent click area around the button doesn’t seem like a clean option. Since I’m not using a full-screen overlay, there are still buttons outside that you can click while the overlay is open. I have a lot of components that have text in them. (Let’s suspend the need for text that “scales” with resizing (which is urgent, Figma team.). ALL THE TIME, text bleeds out of the frame boundaries, regardless of how much I futz with Autolayout, or Constraints. How can I make it so the text frame resizes appropriately and doesn’t bleed?

Hello! I’ve been prototyping using variables and after a few issues I got everything working. It works perfectly on my computer and on two of my colleagues’ computers as well. BUT… I shared the prototype to a third colleague and for some reasons the variables don’t work for them. Basically if a variable has a value defined before starting the prototype, it’s fine, but if an interaction has a set variable, it doesn’t change the variable. I tried different settings but can’t seem to find a solution. Has anyone experienced this too? Here is a file exemplifying the issue. I have some checkboxes nested inside of a button like this: In my components, the checkboxes appear correctly when switching to the On state: When tested however, they revert to their original color: Is there a way to fix this without having to create more variants on the checkbox?

Hi Figma Community, I’m encountering an issue where the colors from my design system’s style guide are showing up as hex codes in my CMS file instead of the intended style guide colors. Everything was working fine until recently. Here’s some context: I’ve published a design system and linked it to another CMS file. The issue started suddenly, without any changes I’m aware of. The CMS file is showing hex codes where the design system colors should be applied. There haven’t been any changes to the naming conventions or structure of the design system. I’ve tried refreshing and re-linking the design system to the CMS file, but the problem persists. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any insights into what might be causing this? Could this be related to a recent Figma update or syncing issue? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello dear community I have a main file and have created a branch from it. As it happens in day-to-day business, the main file has changed. The problem now: The addition in the main file is not displayed in the preview of the same (i.e. not in the branch). Why?

When I want to export some assets from Figma in Dev Mode it shows the “Downloading Contents 0 / 93” prompt which takes an eternity to complete. What is it downloading and why? I can see all Images in Figma so there shouldnt be anything left to download…

(I tried searching for a topic similar to mine, but didn’t find any) So, I wanted to ask if there’s a way to use an instance of a design/frame across multiple pages, without having to create a component of it? (kind of like mirroring a design to separate pages) I’ll try to explain it this way if you can’t visualize it: I have a design on “Masterfiles” page. I try to keep my master designs in this page. I have a mobile layout of this design (using a dynamic variable) in a different page (eg. “Mobile version”). I have another layout (tablet) of the same design (using a dynamic variable), again, in a different page (eg. “Tablet version”). Because currently, Figma doesn’t allow for Devs to change the Dynamic variables, I have to keep separate pages for each variable definition. Now every time I have updates on the Masterfile page, is there a way that I can update designs on the Masterfile without having to update the Mobile and Tablet versions as well? Does anybody know how to create this cool image hover effect as shown on this festival’s website? When you hover over the linked categories, a different image pops up and the image gently floats and slides a bit across the web page before returning to its original location. I’ve tried creating a variety of different frames with hover interactions, turning the images into components and smart animating - but I can’t quite figure it out. I’ve been able to make the image slide by creating two separate frames and adding image components + after delay variants, but I don’t know how to get the image to reset to its original location each time it hovers over a link. Right now, once the hover interaction is triggered, the image will slide into a new position and stay there for all future occurrences of hover. Any suggestions?
