When I access a frame via GET image API I receive a download link like https://figma-alpha-api.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/images/c2a7b935-… . The Problem is that this URL is public and can be accessed by anyone who knows the url, which is not suitable for confidential files. Question: Is there any option to enable security / restricted file access ? I also tried to write a plugin however the Plugin api seems not to be suitebal for large amounts of Files as used within a CI / CD pipeline. Are there plans to enhance security in the future ? I’m seeking insights on how larger design teams manage Figma files in collaboration with development to keep everything in sync with production: Do you create page templates as part of your design system? Do you maintain a separate file (such as a sticker sheet) for page-level components? Or do you skip page templates and modify components directly in your working files, pushing updates to production once changes are finalised? Please, help a friend out and share your approach.

So, let’s see…if I have a Figma file with let’s say 5 instances of the same library component, but with different variants: Component Inst1–VarA *** Inst2–VarB *** Inst3–VarC *** Inst4–VarD *** Inst5 – VarF If i need to import via plugin each of these instances to a new file, how do I exctract/find out…the selected variant and work out its key to be used in expressions like: figma.importComponentByKeyAsync(key) I am getting a bit lost in the Json response here…the Json response shows node children in pages with type: "INSTANCE" and another field a bit below componentId: “XXXX:XXXX” however, in the code TS reports Property 'componentId' does not exist on type 'InstanceNode'

The Chinese display of Figma for Mac desktop has errors. For example, in Pages folder and Framer, only the section name is displayed correctly. The layer name is normal again, and the Pages folder name becomes normal when selected. pages folder selected status pages folder is not selected

Hello, Might be an easy one but I can’t figure it out. Seems like list numeration from 10+ is going out of frame. Link Item #10 (10. Name) you can see that some part of the 1 is out of the frame and I can’t understand why.

I’ve been trying to move a kanban object in one frame to another frame using the on drag prototype method. It looks like it just dissolves it because it’s moving into a new frame. Any suggestions on a work around for this? So far it seems like absolute positioning everything is my only way but that messes up other parts of my design.

Hello everyone, We need to stroke part of the text in a paragraph of text, but the prerequisite is that the text is not split. Is there a way to achieve this? The text is not split because we need to review the content of the copy through the api interface, so designers cannot be allowed to adjust the relevant copy too freely.

I cannot add the dropdown component to the calendar variant. Previously, when I worked with variants, I didn’t encounter such issues. I’ve tried ungrouping the inner layers, resetting the auto layout, detaching the dropdown component, and inserting it into the calendar variant, but none of these approaches have worked. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there Figma Community I am currently working on a project, where one of the clients is a blind woman. For this I was looking into the accessibility features from Figma and was delighted, that Figma itself works with general screen reader. I noticed now, that screen reader only works with texts & images, but as we are still in a very abstract phase of the prototyping process, we have a lot of things like “lines as stand in for text blocks” etc. As far as I can see, I can’t manually mark something as “read this element in a screen reader” so it would be able to “see” the element to be read out loud and read the title of a marked frame/shape/etc. Or does anyone know about an option that I didn’t realise is there? If there isn’t an option like this, it would be great to have something like this in the feature, as for now prototypes already need to be very hi-fi to actually be able to share with a blind person, which, in my opinion, is too late in the process to create the best solut

I am working on a project with a team that is using Helvetica Neue. The team has sent the Helvetica files to me, though when I install it on my end it registers as HelveticaNeue. When I go into the figma design file it identifies font in the file and the font I have on my machine as two different fonts. The design file registers as Helvetica Neue(with a space) for the team and HelveticaNeue(no spaces) for my profile. I have tried renaming the files to match. Uninstalling and reinstalling the font. Tried on the browser and the desktop app, but no luck. Has anyone else experienced this? The team is all using macs, while I am on a windows device, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone! Not new to Figma, but for some reason the following melts my brain =) I’d appreciate your kind help on how to best prototype it. Variables are ok, I have a paid account. Here is the situation: a button with 3 states (default, hover, pressed). When hovered, it should go to “hover” state. This is easy. Now, when pressed, I need the button text to change. A becomes “grayed out” and B becomes “active”. The button should stay in this state until I press it again (A becomes “active” and B becomes “grayed out”). What are the optimal ways to prototype this? Thanks a lot!

Hello guys, I didnt use Figma in the last couple of months and i had couple of files that somehow got deleted after the last big update. I searched in all ‘recents’ ‘dafts’ ‘deleted drafts’ and in many more tabs and didnt find anything. it just doesnt exist. can someone help me find those files somehow? thank you 🙂

Dear Figma Support Team, I recently encountered an issue with my account. After I left a team that was created by another person, all my personal drafts disappeared. This includes drafts that were created both before I was added to the team and after. I’ve checked everywhere, including the “Recent” section and the trash, but I am unable to locate them. These files were very important to my work, and I hope you can help me recover them. Could you please assist in resolving this issue?

Hello friends, I noticed the only permission scope of Figma authentication via OAuth2 is “file_read”, but this is too much for me. In my circumstances, users are posting some data to my server inside the Figma plugin, for which I only have to get a valid user identity, not an access to their Figma files. I think it’s very similar to those “Sign in with Google/Facebook” buttons, does Figma provide something like this? A “Sign in with Figma” button?

If there is a master component that is inserted into another component. They have Base Text properties added to the component properties. If such a component is added to another component and switched via a variable, then the changed properties will stop working.

How do you send just one Prototype Frame/Page (home page) to a client to view in a browser? They do not want something that opens in Figma. This should be simple, but they are getting all of the pages.

Hello everyone, I am new to Figma and I am trying to remove mixed border radius but it does not show anything when I click on the border radius for the element. I have removed the locker from the element and so on but nothing ahppens. Is there anything I am not knowing how to do?

Currently the SVG export in Figma excludes any vector shapes that cannot be see due to a mask at the time of export. I understand why this was an intentional optimization and I don’t see a way to disable it, but because it is useful for a niche use of SVG graphics I’m working on I wanted to double check and see if anyone knew of a way to change this behavior or work around it. For example, Figma also excludes elements with a 0 width stroke or that are fully transparent, but that can be worked around by making a very small stroke or alpha (0.01). I can’t think of an equivalent solution for elements that are fully clipped by a mask.

Problem: If I create a red rectangle from the color library and create a component from it, Figma automatically fills the fill in white and sets it to invisible even though I had previously set it to red. I have been working with Figma for 3 years, 5 days a week and more than 8 hours a day, this functionality is completely new and illogical to me. I have watched older YouTube videos where a component is created and you can see that this stupid feature was not there. Does anyone have any idea why Figma introduced this? It creates an extra step that is completely unnecessary by deleting the white and replacing it with the actual color.sting! Befor After
