Hi I’m currently working on a large project but my Figma was displaying as offline I have reloaded the page but I am now getting this error " Connection error: -2 Your computer may be offline or the Figma server may be experiencing problems." Just before this is was doing some strange things (like adding extra padding to components) when displaying on colleges screen. Can any one help please?

Im dragging elements like images or icon etc into a frame and the disappear when the are inserted. i can see the stroke of them but they are invisible. They are not behind any element

I usually use cmd+opt+C (ctrl+alt+C) and cmd+opt+V (ctrl+alt+V) to copy and paste properties from one object to another. It’s normal when I use it for text. But when I try this action for a frame (E.g I want to copy all properties of the frame’s background to another one), this will break all text style inside. Cry a lot 😦 . This same issue with section properties. Is that a bug?

A terribly frustrating aspect of UI3 is how some of my most frequently used sidebar fields — X/Y position and width/height/AL sizing — jump around the sidebar constantly based on the current selection. If I have a component selected, it’s attributes will push the position and sizing sections further down the sidebar than if I have a standard shape selected. As someone who’s heavily reliant on manually inputting numbers into these fields, this feels like a UX cardinal sin for a productivity program. I think most of the changes for UI3 are just things that I’ll get used to over time, but this will always create friction in my workflow because every single component has a different number of attributes which will lead to the position/sizing blocks ending up in a different place in the sidebar. WebAssembly compilation aborted: Network error: Response body loading was aborted

(I guess someone else talked about that but I couldn’t find any post.) In the previous UI, whenever I selected an object or component, the basic settings like position (X, Y), size (H, W), and rotation were always displayed at the top of the panel. However, with the new UI3, while the basic settings remain at the top for objects, selecting a component now pushes the component settings and variants to the top instead. This constant shifting of the UI makes me feel disoriented, a bit dizzy. My eyes aren’t sure where to focus, and the movement of key elements feels inconsistent. I understand that component settings are important, but I think the basic settings (like position and size) should always be prioritized and stay at the top for consistency. At the very least, could we have an option to customize this layout? Thanks, Cheers. Phil

Hi guys. There are two issues regarding the prototype-link. When I share the prototype-link with clients, they still have to request viewing access. This shouldn’t happen, as the purpose of sharing a prototype-link is to allow them to view part of the designs. Anyone with the prototype-link should be able to view it without needing additional permissions. 🫤 Now, when I grant them view access, they can also access the working file, which shouldn’t be the case!! They should only be able to view the prototype through the prototype-link and not have access to the working file. However, right now they can navigate from the prototype to the working file. 🤨 Please provide a better solution here. 🤞 Yes, I’m aware of the workaround of creating another file for the prototype/presentation, but this is not the best solution?

When presenting to a client, I want to show all the variants of the component. For example, let’s say I have a card layout, I want the option to a) show them and b) leave them with the presentation link where they can toggle through the different variations. The variations could be different colour backgrounds, layout coloums etc. Pretty much what I’m looking for is something similar to Dev Mode playground, where the client viewing the presentation can view the different component variants - is this possible?

Hi, I do a lot of copying frames (from an auto-layout parent frame) and dumping them out into a new Figma file to do prototyping (since we can’t properly prototype with auto-layout). When I paste the frames into the new document they are dumped out in REVERSE order from what I had them as. Please either: Reverse the order when pasting frames from an auto-layout parent Give us a special PASTE option (e.g. Paste frames in reverse order). Auto layout is the best… trying to prototype with auto layout parents is hell… at least try to meet us in the middle with a better paste option.

Why I can not use check if/else with string == ‘‘text’’

I tried to make an automated slide deck for a conference stand and got 99% of the way. I could use delay transitions between the slides, but not from the last slide back to the first. Couldn’t figure it out and had to make a normal looping prototype instead, which was a bummer… Is there any way to do this in Slides?

I am working on a dropdown component that updates the ‘select option’ text with the option text that receives the click. So, if the user selects ‘apple’ from the list, the dropdown would show ‘apple’ as the selected option. One approach would be to use variables inside the component. To continue with our example, we would store ‘apple’ as a variable and wire it up to one of the options in the dropdown list. The ‘select option’ would be set to ‘apple’ when the user selects it. The problem with this approach is that a variable can only be defined once. As a result, multiple instances will all refer to the same value. For example, if I want to use two dropdown components, one with a list of fruits and another with a list of car brands, this is not possible. Hello good! How are they? I’m having a problem with variable modes and colors in components. I’m creating some “templates” to be able to easily switch between a square UI and a rounded one with variable modes. I generated the icons with variants that will be renamed using a variable, one for the sharp ones and another for the rounded ones. I incorporated this icon into the button with the properties to easily change the icon and applying the variable to the property of the icon itself, so that it adapts to the variable modes. When I replicate the component instance and switch between variable modes it initially works fine, the edges are rounded and the icon changes properties. The problem is when I change the icon on the button, in principle everything looks fine, but when I change the variable modes the color of the icon resets to its original color, and this does not allow me to replicate multiple components with different icons and change between modes easily, you would have to

Hi, I have a problem with Figma UI. I think i is related to UI3 update since I have basically two sidebars on top of each other. I have the old one without content and than on top of it new floating one. Anyone else had a same problem? How did you resolve it?

Hi! when I have a group or a frame, which is an image with a mask, if from the DEV mode I want to export that frame or group, it does not let me select it and I can only select the whole image, how can I prepare that in Figma so that when I pass it to the developers they can export the frame/group instead of the whole image? thanks 🙂

I’m currently working on a logo file where I’ve imported the SVG vectors over to Figma, but the lines are doing this weird fade out effect, kind of like they start at 1px but end up being 0.3px. I’ve looked into the original vector file, and there’s no issues with the file from what I can tell. The effect only appears if I’m zoomed out quite a bit. Has anyone experienced something similar to this before?

It seems Figma can’t decide whether it uses bullet characters (bad choice IMO) or real bullets, see for yourself: If I start typing in the last line it converts the bullet char into a circular bullet, but I can’t fix the one in the second line. When I clicked on ‘Review Request,’ I was directed to Figma’s team settings, but there was no option to accept the request. Any time I select an image or frame, it jumps to the right and up about 4-8px. It’s definitely a bug, and it’s super annoying. Please fix it!

when Figma AI Betas launched?

I’m not sure why this happened, but all styles in our component has been disconnected unexpectedly. Color tokens have been connected without any problem. I’ve checked the previous version using version history, and found that it happened around the end of December 2022 or so(3 weeks ago). Does anyone know the reason, and how to solve this? It takes huge time if we take care of them manually… 😱
