I have noticed that you can resize a “SHAPE_WITH_TEXT” node on a single axis but all other components can only be “scaled” on resize. How can I make a FigJam component that’s able to resize on a single axis? instead of having to type spaces and empty lines into a text layer to push the hugging auto-layout, FYI, the component I made is able to resize on a single axis in the design file and behaves perfectly.

Hi community, I’m building a Figma plugin that parses React code and returns what components are used. I’m using some Babel functions by importing like: import { parse } from '@babel/parser'; import traverse from '@babel/traverse'; Although I don’t see any errors on my VS code, when I run the plugin I get an error on the console of Figma saying “SyntaxError: possible import expression rejected around line 1”. Could anyone help me figure out the solution? TIA

Hi guys, Is it possible to export Figma files as SVG via the API without having the text converted into vector outlines? I’m looking for a way to retain text as editable elements in the exported SVG. Thank you in advance!

I know that Organization plan allows to disable public link sharing in entire Organization. I’m in Professional plan and I would like to quickly identify projects that are shared publicly („Anyone with the link”). Is there any way to see such sharing options in the list view of all projects? Or maybe some option to export such list? Thanks in advance for your support.

After publishing a Slides template to my organization, the slide Style selector seems to be disabled and none of my styles are available to use. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a workaround?

Hello everyone, Hope you’re all doing well. I’m having a little problem with the tooltip component in my slider component. Slider is not an auto-layout, used constraints for it to scale in width accordingly. The container that houses the Thumb and Tooltip is an auto-layout. Essentially the tooltip is hanging outside the parent frame (as I don’t want the other element below it to change position based on the tooltip size), but the tooltip is showing up behind the element layers underneath it, even though the Slider component is above these element layers in the frame. I would like the tooltip to show above the Element layer - any idea how to do this please? Is it a Z-index problem? Added images below to highlight the problem. Hi guys! I open my Figma desktop app and I got this warning message: “Limited access: To create new files, switch to a plan where you’re a full member”. And all my favourites are gone and also the recent files. I have a education plan and always had full access. But the strangest thing is that, if I use Figma in my browser, everything looks normal. I’m using a MacOs with everything updated. Also I installed the latest version of the desktop app. Does anyone else has this issue? Thank you Cheers!

Hey everyone, Not sure if this is a bug but I can’t figure out why this is happening. I have a basic component that requires a closed and open state, but also a hover state for the entire panel. I have created an icon that is pulled from an extensive local library. I have checked the layer names and have even recreated the component on an external document making sure I do not change the layer names and presto it still happens. As in the screenshots you can see that the icon itself changes colour when interacting with said component. Any and all help would be greatly received.

Hi I’ m trying to demonstrate a video overlay for a work project however weirdly I get a small amount of empty space on the frame. This isn’t there if I just place the video directly onto the object I want it to go on. For example the video is 574x322px. I imported it onto the canvas then the Framed the selection - clipped the frame to contents. So when I manually place the overlay I get a pixel of space in the container how do I fix this? See attached. Am I missing something? Thanks Alan

I recently open up an old project to find that Figma have a new layout. First of its not better IMO, its just different, on top of that Figma just made hundreds of hours of YouTube content for people to use there product obsolete. There is a lot I can’t do anymore. Not able to delete layers that are second in a hierarchy using a key or right-click. I can’t find a button for creating components or variants anymore, (you can right-click) you can’t drag-drop one layer into another in the viewport. you have to do in manually you can’t create bool variables anymore, you can create them but they do not show up if you select a single version (button) The List goes on. I get that developing programs generate bugs, but this was obviously not ready to be shipped and I now need to look elsewhere because I need to get shit done. End of rant

Hi, I am facing the following challenge: In our component library we have a Select component that has a nested Dropdown list component included. Depending on the variant of the Select component the Dropdown list component is either hidden (select not expanded) or shown (select expanded). Furthermore we have different variants for our Dropdown list component (e.g. checkbox list, loading, subtext etc.) in order to cover the different use cases. The desired behaviour should be like this: When I use the select component and I want to be able to switch between the different Dropdown list variants. This means when I change the Dropdown list variant then it should change in all Select component variants. What is happening right now: When I change the variant of the Dropdown list component within the Select variant then all the hidden Dropdown list elements become unhidden. Do you know how I can fix that? I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you very much!

Is there any update on this? I need to play some sounds when clicking or moving to another frame. Can we simply reproduce an mp3 audio when clicking a button or we have to go thru the buggy solution including a video mp4 file? I come from AdobeXD and it was so simple, they even have a speech playback option, and they are 2 years behind?

I am getting an error “Only active mandates can be used with PaymentIntents” while making payment. My project is locked as I cannot edit the files. Can someone please help me from Figma team. Unable to view the library color styles only in the Variable window, but I can access see the Library Color Styles everywhere else except Variable Window. Please let me know what could be the cause or shall I re-install Figma as the current update seems not working properly

I had a Figma Organization account when we had enough number of teams. But now we have shrink down our team number and currently we only require Professional plan. So, is it possible to downgrade from Organization plan to a Professional Plan?

Hi all! I’m having an issue where I have a component instance ( horizontal cards list with auto-layout) and when detaching the component, the sizes of the child items sometimes grows to an exponential width, sometimes size looks like they are OK, but they are nowhere to be find. Fiddling with the layer manually to adjust size, hug/fill or anything else, I cannot retrieve the layers. It’s lost in the Figma ether lol… Unlinking the component multiple times in a row with different outcome everytime (unlink - undo - unlink - undo …) : Screen Recording 2024-10-21 at 2.31.43 PM It’s not the first time I encounter this and I cannot understand why it happens or how to fix it… Anyone have an idea? Thanks!

How can I link my student account to my personal account?

I use Figma as my online portfolio. It needs a lot of artwork and GIF files to show. I don’t know what kind of file’s property should be perfect to put in Figma. I sometimes check my prototype site and it needs extra time to show my artwork on the prototype. Is it related to artwork file size? If so, how can I get a small file size with high-quality artwork? (I normally use artwork that was exported from Illustrator, I try to “save for web” but it shows lower quality artwork than I expected) for existing topics before posting! Hi there, I am in the same boat. My professional plan already expired and I lost a few Design boards that are critical to upcoming campaigns (in less than 2 weeks). If I re-upgrade my plan, will those files reappear?

I am developing a little Figma plugin using the Plugin API. I am working with a TextNode withing a Component. The component has a TEXT proprety configured. I am tring to link the content of the text node to the value of the component’s proprety using the API Below is the exact UI functionality that I am aiming for. I haven’t found anything that would help in the Plugin API refference. Can you guys point me in the right dirrection? 10x
