Hi everyone,I'm running into an issue with hover interactions on vector shapes in Figma. Currently, hover states are triggered based on the shape's bounding box, not the actual vector path itself. This is causing problems for me, I'm trying to make a graph interactive, but because of the bounding boxes overlapping, the hover triggers incorrectly. Is there any way to make the hover interaction respect the actual visible vector shape instead of the bounding box? Or is this a known limitation?Any ideas or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!PS I know there already are some topics on this, but they date from more than 1 year ago, maybe something has changed in the meanwhile. Thanks in advance.
OverviewI started using Figma Sites after watching several YouTube tutorials. In the tutorials, other users have blocks like Navigation and Features in the “Insert” menu, but I don’t see those options in mine.I understand that Figma Sites is available to users on the Pro plan, and as far as I know, there shouldn’t be any other restrictions. My QuestionI understand that Figma Sites is currently in beta.Does this mean that features are limited per user? Or is there a step I still need to complete?Or could this be a bug? (If so, I’d appreciate it if it could be fixed.)If anyone has any insight, I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
I am trying out the new MCP server, which is awesome news btw. The first thing I tried to use it for was to pull variables from some design files into my codebases and it doesn’t seem to support modes at all. I can seemingly get almost every other thing out of the file but not the variable modes.Am I missing something? Variables seem to me to be the most obvious thing you want to translate directly from Figma to your codebase.
I am trying to create a basic calculator using Figma variables. The calculator has 1-9 number keys and a result section linked to number variable #Result Interaction on numbers takes place as follow: Interaction logic: Prototype mode: On clicking 7 multiple type result displayed is as follows: Expected: 0, 7(0x10+7), 77(7x10=7),777, 7777, 77777, 777777, Unexpected: 77777776, 777777792, -2147483648 (and stops) Can anyone help me with the reason for this error, as I have rechecked all logics carefully.
HelloI have a problem.I created some components that I wanted to take to the Figma site, but apparently there is no support for some interactions.I wanted to make a carousel, which is working in the prototype. What solutions should I look for for this?
I have attached all of the image frames to variables for the width and height and made a variable mode for mobile and for tablet. The ultimate idea is to have an endless scrolling photo gallery that I can change from Mobile to Tablet and have it work the same for either size.In the first screenshot you will see a stacked component positioned vertically with five rows of repeating images that I am using to make an infinite scrolling photo gallery. Up to this point all of the images have been behaving properly in terms of responsiveness. In the second screenshot you can see that I have clipped the stacked component so you just see five images. I have moved an instant of each of the variants to the right of the component and changed the mode of each one from Mobile to Tablet. At this point you can see that the first variant with the cherries behaved normally but each consecutive variant only changed by a fraction thus landing between images. This behavior has me stumped and I’m not seeing
I’m trying to add a video as a background in Figma Sites. The video previews in the fill window (see screenshot) however it does not play when I preview the whole site.
It would be perfect if Figma, when used in the browser, had an option to keep a design open in the browser—even when the desktop app is installed. The Figma app is great, and everyone who uses it (myself included) likes it, but sometimes users would prefer to use it 100% via the browser. Unfortunately, Figma doesn’t have a native setting to choose whether files/designs open in the browser or the app—they always redirect to the app.
Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a web app prototype in Figma and I’ve hit a strange issue. I’ve set up a frame that’s 834x1194px and contains content that overflows vertically. Here’s what I’ve done so far: The parent frame has “Clip content” checked ✅ Overflow behavior is set to “Vertical scrolling” ✅ The content inside clearly exceeds the height of the frame ✅ Prototype settings seem correct, and the screen is connected in the flow ✅ Still, when I preview the prototype, I can’t scroll vertically at all — the screen is completely static.I’ve tried rebuilding the frame from scratch, playing with layers, checking constraints, and ensuring nothing is hidden or locked. Still no luck. Here’s a link to a duplicate version of the file, in case anyone wants to take a look:👉 If you’ve encountered this before or have ideas, I’d love your help! Thanks so much,Marine
I need to know some good plugins free or paid, that helps in generating clean ui designs using text prompt
Has anyone else got this new toolbar? I take it Figma are A/B testing this new design as other people on my team have the old toolbar? I don’t mind the smaller footprint as it frees up a bit more of the focus on the canvas but I think it’s a little bit too small, especially for those who click on the toolbar items (I personally use keyboard shortcuts).
I am creating a plugin that checks whether all the tokens used in my design file are sourced from the added library or entered manually. I am accessing the node object of each selected frame, and based on the data within it, I want to retrieve the following information: Is there any function or node in the object that indicates token usage for horizontal/vertical padding, horizontal/vertical gaps between objects, and corner radius? (Currently, it only provides numerical values instead of showing the token—I've attached an image for reference.) Can I determine whether a component is sourced from the library? If so, where is the library's name stored in the object? Is there any function or node in the object that indicates the fill and stroke colors applied using tokens from the added library? Does Figma provide documentation on this object, including descriptions of its nodes and functions? Thanks
Hello,I've added a new symbol (paper_plane) to my library but when I call it in a nested component, it doesn't automatically take the colors of my states (active / hover...). I read in another question that the layer must have the same name, which is my case. I've been looking for a while but I really can't figure out how to do it.Any ideas? :)Icon library : I added the paper plane, same name “Vector” in the componant But color don’t override when I change the states
Hi, can anyone tell me what do I need to access Design/Dev Mode/whatever on a Figma link in order to export images from a Figma prototype?I used to have an option to go to Design Mode or Dev Mode or Ask to Edit, but not anymore, something changed and I have no idea what and how. This is all very confusing and not having an option inside the preview is just bad UX .
I have a display problem on the icons from Font Awesome 6: Instead of displaying the icons, the names of the codes of each one are displayed I can temporarily fix the problem using the quick actions: Select all with the same font Recompute text layout in selection But randomly the problem occurs again. What other things have I tried? Test with a partner to recompute the text to see if it fixed it for both of us at the same time to rule out that it is a local or cache problem. It is not tied to anything specific to windows or macos as it happens on both. We tried uninstalling the font and installing it again. When the characters are changed, it does not happen in the whole file, but in some sections (That section conflicts with the display all at once), which leads me to suspect that it may be a user with a font with a sub different version but I can’t verify it (since Figma does not communicate any error related to this).
When I try to publish changes, I get this error, I couldn't find any tutorials on how to fix it
Hello to everyone!I made the first plugin for my community. It works well, but I can't share it with others.I assume it's because of the review status. How long will this status last? I have a very simple plugin.
Hi Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am currently encountering an issue with hyperlinks in Figma instances and would appreciate your assistance in resolving it. Issue Summary I’ve created an Index component that includes hyperlinks to three other Figma files (Moodboard, Resell, and Other Project & Component Library). The links work perfectly within the master component file. However, when I use the component instance in another Figma file, the hyperlinks no longer function as expected. Details • Component File: Index Component Link • Instance File: File with Instance Link Expected Behavior The hyperlinks embedded in the master component should work seamlessly within the instances in other files. Observed Behavior The hyperlinks do not work when the component is used as an instance in a different file. Steps to Reproduce Open the Index Component. Test the hyperlinks—they work correctly. Use the component instance in a different file, such as the Pre. Con. Projects fi
Is there a way to enter variable values manually by name directly into input fields, without selecting them from the panel? For instance, I have spacing values like 100 = 8px, 200 = 16px, 300 = 24px, and so on. I was wondering if there’s an option to type their names or values—like space-100 or 100=8—directly into the input fields and have them automatically filled with the corresponding values. Repeatedly choosing these values from the panel slows me down. I think allowing manual entry would speed up the workflow and improve precision, especially when reusing known token values.
So I tried to update my resume in figma (why not, if everything is in figma) and I have 2 page 1080X1398 simple text and nothing no image, or any kind of graphic and the file size is 3.5MB. I had a pdf resume with just 90KB file size. is there a way I can reduce the file size problem is there is no PDF compressor tools working, hardly reduce 30-40% of file size not more than that.
Its been a few weeks now and I have been waiting to gain access of Figma Make. I know the rollouts are happening slowly and everyone will gain access soon but still would love to know the timeline. I have a professional plan and I would prefer having an edge in getting the access to feature early than others. I see few others already using it and posting about it. Kindly let me know when will I have access to it [Post title updated from “When will Figma Make be available to me?” to “When will Figma Make be available, and are there any usage limits?” by a moderator on Wed, June 11.]
Hi iI’m new to Figma and have only been using it for about a month now. Up until now I’ve uploading svg images from canva into Figma with no issues. However this morning a number of sections from my screens where images have been uploaded have gone black? But not all images. I feel as its connected to SVG files but its not been an issue until this morning.. I also just tried using png and it was coming out fine. But this method is not really not idea and lacks the customisable edge and flexibility on splitting the image etc unlike SVG. Also when I do the demo mode, no issues as everything looks normal with no black image blocks appear can anyone help? New to this
When im on a different window and alt+tab back to figma, it loads the home tab instead of the tab i was on before. This is extremely annoying cause i have to then navigate to the desired figma tab every time. I switch between vs code and figma 1000 times per day and its doing my head in. Is this intended behaviour or a bug? I dont know why it would be intended.
I am trying to install code connect on my Mac, for an iOS app.I installed npm (latest to date) npm install -g npm@11.4.1 I installed code connect npx figma connect --token=<my token>I selected my components and hit returnand consistently got this error message:I tried from my office and from hotspot, so unlikely caused by network issues.Does anyone have any idea?
Like many others, I’d like to reference components from our design system or other style files when creating something in Make. This page on the Figma Help site says a Design Library can be attached to each Make file so I can reference components from it, but I don’t see the Browse Libraries link the article mentions to attach it - specifically this direction from the article, “Above your components, click Browse libraries”. The Browse Libraries link isn’t there for me, only a random assortment of components seem to appear. Maybe I need to move the Make file to a different folder on my account? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
