Good afternoon I am creating a filter bar where it is possible to choose (with checkboxes) 3 levels of difficulty and 3 types of surfaces, depending on the filters selected by the users should the cards of the items that don't correspond to the selected filters should disappear and only the cards that match the choice should remain visible. i was thinking of using boolean variables but it turned out to be too complex, do you have other suggestions on how to do it possibly using varables or conditionals?PS. i also thought about the possibility of using components but there would be too many solutions to develop. if you want to help me and have more details about the project contact me [by sending a private message]. Note: A community moderator edited this post on June 25, 2025 to remove personal information for privacy.

I just can’t develop anything with Figma Sites. It’s full of bugs! Scroll animations don’t work, transitioning layouts from desktop to mobile doesn’t work, text style breakpoints don’t work either — it’s a complete mess. Seriously: nothing works properly in Figma Sites, it’s unbelievable! Everything feels counterintuitive. For example: I tried designing a simple website. Since Figma supposedly mirrors the layout to mobile automatically, I thought it would work great — but it was a failure. When I change an element on the desktop version, it doesn’t reflect on mobile (even though I didn’t touch the mobile version). The grid system doesn’t work as expected either — elements just fall off the mobile screen instead of repositioning properly. It’s a shame. I also tried adding a scroll animation, but with no success: when I moved the X axis downward, the object went up — and vice versa. Sometimes it even disappeared from the desktop screen. Believe it or not: even the preview doesn’t work. W

Hi, ContextI’m helping a client design a product using the PrimeNG library. This dev library comes with a Figma library where I get components, styles, and variables. My problemI don’t know how to edit the values of variables configured in the design system so that all the components, variants, and their instances use my updated values. It’s a general question, but I’ll use one specific example below to illustrate. ExampleThe library has a component called inputtext uses padding variables set to 10.5 horizontally and 7 vertically. I can see these variables both in the properties panel in Figma and in the Token Studio for Figma plugin. (Note that I don’t know much about this plugin and I try to use it because PrimeNG suggests it for using their system and my client’s dev team is trying to leverage it.) Padding settings in for the inputtext component (Figma and Token Studio) Padding variables in the Variables window in Figma But I can’t seem to find how to edit these values. Is there any way to create a line with an automatic square in the end? (See screenshot)The dropdown only allows a very limited shape variety, and unfortunately none of them is a square, which I need on a daily basis. Thanks for your help in advance :)

Hi,I've created a menu item (component) with submenu items (nested component). The submenu items only show when hovering. When I try to add an interaction to the submenu item (link to a frame when clicking), it doesn't work. It only works when I set the menu item in hover state already, but thats not what I want of course.Does anyone know how I can fix this?Here's my file link:

Hi, I’m working on prototyping my project and got a couple “mouse enter” and “mouse leave” interactions connected to variables. These are working properly but when I go to add animations, I am not seeing where I can add/change those. I tried adding a delay of 200ms to see if it would pop up then but still no luck. Not sure if animations are in a different place with the update? Or if animations don’t work with variables?

Whenever I use any text style plugin to automate the process, the fonts lose various OpenType features. For example, underlined variants of a font lose the underline and everything with disambiguation or monospace numerals gets reverted to its default state.If there is no way to do this through a plugin, is there at least a way I can select text and press a hotkey to instantly add it as a style? This would still take a while, but otherwise it would take hours to add all of the font styles I need.

Hi everyone. Figma Desktop just stopped launching. Didn’t install anything extra (e.g. Figma EX). Reinstalling does not work. A white window opens with a button “Login in with browser”, after clicking the inscription appears : “Go to the browser to complete login”. The browser does not open in this case. Opened it separately. Desktop App does not work. deleted manually in these ways: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Figma\ C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Figma\ didn’t help. The app still won’t open.

How can a create a loading screen in Figma Sites? Is there a way to make a smooth transition between pages?

Hello, I created a figma account years ago at a hackaton, and joined an impromptu team. Fast forward 3 years and I created a new figma design. Unbeknownst to me, I was still part of this team. Two days ago, I removed myself from the team so I could start a new team and share the file with someone else. However, when I went to share the file and move it, it said I didn’t own the file that I created and that I couldn’t move it from another user’s drafts. How do I resolve this?I opened a support ticket, but they haven’t been much help.

I’m trying to register a Figma account using the email address (redacted by the moderator due to PII) but during the registration process, I received an error indicating that the email was disabled.However, this email address is currently active and in regular use. Hi there,I’m Joo, a designer contributing to the Cursor-Talk-to-Figma (CTTF) project. First of all, thank you for releasing the official DevMode MCP — especially the image extraction feature. We’ve been successfully combining DevMode MCP with our plugin API-based third-party MCP to automate many workflows, and it’s working really well. However, I’d like to report a recurring issue when using the get_image tool.In our setup, we typically use Figma’s get_image to extract visuals, pass them to an AI agent for analysis, and then follow up with tools from CTTF — such as UX writing or critique. But as shown in the screenshot below, we consistently run into an error when calling get_image. While hitting “Resume” does allow the process to continue, the repeated interruption creates some confusion. Any idea what might be causing this?Should I raise this with Anthropic as well? Thanks in advance!  

Good afternoon. The paid version of Figma was paid for. Appearance now has the option to select a color, but there is no color list in the Variables list. Why aren't the colors displayed in Appearance?

When I try to export a frame, Figma downloads a zip folder. I’d like to download just a single image of the frame. I’ve read through other suggestions on similar posts, but they have not worked for me. I’ve tested other frames. I’ve tested exporting as a png or jpg. I’m only selecting one frame at a time. My frame does not have a “/” in its title. It even downloads a zip folder when I select a single shape or piece of text. This didn’t used to happen, and I’m not sure what changed. Does anyone have any advice?

I remember there used to be an option to download the ZIP from Sites and Maker, but I can't find it anymore. Did they move it or remove it?

Variable Swapping for Corner Radius Across Libraries Even when number variables (e.g., corner-radius-sm) are named and structured the same in two libraries, Figma does not swap them automatically. This breaks consistency and forces manual rework.

Hi everyoneI’m facing an issue with one of my files in Figma. I’m the Team Owner, but the file has somehow become ownerless after trying to move it from Projects to Drafts and back. Now it just shows no owner, and I can’t find any option to reclaim it, even though it’s inside my team space and I have “can edit” access.I contacted Figma support, but the AI assistant said ownerless files can't be claimed directly, only ownerless projects can. It also mentioned that I can still edit the file or grant access to others, but that doesn’t help with actual ownership.Has anyone experienced this before?Is there any workaround or way to properly reclaim ownership of a file in this situation?

Is there a way to pause animations on click or tap? I have a play/pause button that has a circular progress bar inside of it. I would like to click it, then as the progress bar animates around the circle, I would like to be able to click the button again and have the bar stop/pause, then be able to click once more and have it continue to animate where it left off. Is this even passible? 

Recently I got a problem with my Figma projects (web and app likewise) - all the PNG files in any project does not load, as well as their thumbnails (the thumbnails got partially fixed at some point, but now are not loading again).My attempts to fix the issue:Pressed Help - Troubleshoot - Reset Figma and Restart couple of times. Cleared my both C and D drives (not completely), removed the unnecessary .fig, .psd, .png files, some apps, even the After Effects and Media Encoder, since the initial thought was the problem was caused by some sort of incompatibility.  Cleared the browser cache (both the Chrome-based one I use and the Chrome itself). Updated the AMD drivers to the latest version. Updated Figma app to the latest version. Re-installed Figma app like 5 times, and I hope it was a proper reinstall, since everytime I opened FigmaSetup, it just went straight to the app, without even a chance of choosing different drive to install (I don’t remember how did the app behave the very firs

In vector editing mode, command+click (or bend tool + click) on a node removes the toggle handles. Is there a way to remove the handles for all selected nodes at the same time?

Hi! My team has a Professional plan. The admin is the person who is responsible for the organization billing and the person who has access to the credit card.However she is not a designer and my manager does not agree in paying a licence for someone that really won’t use it. It doesn't make sense.According to Figma documentation the View seat doesn't allow the user to manage the billing.Is there any other way to allow her to take car of teh billing without needing the Full seat? Thanks!
