I have placed multiple video files (.mov and .mpeg4) into a Figma slide, and de-actived “autoplay.” When viewing the slide in presentation mode (either standard view or full screen), the videos do not play when clicked. If I skip to the next slide, then return to the slide with the videos, they play as expected.

Major bug, not new, must have feature… please fix it.

Hi there, I hope you are doing well. As far as I know, when you are placing videos in Figma slides with autoplay disabled, they don’t play on click in presentation mode unless the slide is revisited.

This disrupts presentations and feels like a significant bug. Fixing this would greatly improve user experience and video functionality.

Thank you,

Mike Taku.

Yes, same experience here - this is a major bug and showstopper for us.

same here. i would also expect that if there is a file size limitations then any file smaller than 100mb should play properly, but no. It even slows down one of my videos, i’m saying this because it doesnt have the original run-time, but a longer one.

On the other hand - on present mode with regular design file prototypes they load and play straight away just fine.

Hi @RFH @Tal Klein

Thanks for raising this. Since I couldn’t reproduce this issue on my end, would you be able to share the screen recording please? Hope to investigate this further.

Thanks for your patience.

Same bug on my side

Happened to me twice at an important presentation and needed to skip the video :(

Only happens if “present + notes” is enabled.

Hi @Metanoic Vision

Thanks for sharing the details! I could reproduce this issue in the “Present + Notes”, so I shared this issue with our internal team.

I will get back to you when I have anything I can share with you.

Thanks for your patience!

Hi @y_toku ,

I will DM you with a screen recording.

Thanks - Christoph

Great to see that this (at least) 7 month old problem is still not fixed. Go Figma...

Hi @y_toku,

I’m writing as a long-time Figma user who still relies on the “old” prototyping workflow. The latest release introduced what looks like a brand-new set of video-interaction controls, and frankly the interface feels completely foreign to me. I can’t even locate where the “play / pause on click” toggle has moved.

Thanks!
