How do I fix strokes that break when I'm turning them into outline strokes?

Question

I’m making some icons and want to turn the strokes I used to make them into outline stroke for SVG purposes. However, some icons break completely when trying this. I’m making sure that all possible paths are closed, I tried flattening the icons etc. But nothing seems to be working.
Does someone know a solution for this?
(I tried uploading a screen recording of this but I get a notification that new members can’t do this)

Hey @Emma19, I know this reply is coming 2 years late, but I wanted to share these two solutions in case you or others are still running into this problem!              Outlined icons have weird behaviours Ask the community        I’ve found there’s 2 reliable solutions to icons “cracking” when going from strokes to outlines: Solution 1: scale it up, outline, then scale it back down While your icon path is still using a stroke, use the scale tool to increase the size to some super big value. My go-to is 1,000px by 1,000px.Try outlining it. If the vector path “cracks” or “breaks” like in your original screenshot, try a slightly different large size. There’s not a magic number necessarily.
