How can I insert an external object in the auto layout without without break the auto layout?

Hi there!

I’m a new Figma user and I am having some trouble trying to understand how I can place an object in an existing auto layout component, without break the entire auto layout system that I have created.
Is there any tips you could recommend?

Thanks a lot for your support!

Alessia.

Hi, Alessia.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean. Since you have already set the auto-layout, then when you place an element there, it should properly follow your auto-layout.

If you’re talking about elements that you’ll put in an auto-layout frame in absolute position, then you can put that element into absolute position once inside your auto-layout.
