Figma does not recognize fonts in a folder alias.

Some context:

I keep my fonts synced in a Google Drive folder. To activate a font, I just make an alias in the system fonts folder:

macHD>Library>Fonts>[alias-to-my-font]

This is particularly useful in while working with unfinished fonts that update regularly, to prevent them from getting stuck in the computer font cache. Aliases in the fonts folder allows me to update fonts on the fly instead of uninstalling fonts and restarting all software or in the worst case restarting the computer.

For other software this works, for Figma not.

This trick is especially useful with is with the Adobe fonts folder which updates in seconds.

Could Figma have a similar feature to the Adobe fonts folder?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m asking internally, so I will get back to you when I get any updates that I can share with you.

Thanks,

Toku

Hi there,

After consulting with our internal team, it’s been confirmed that this feature is currently not supported in Figma, unfortunately. However, I will pass along your feedback to them for potential future improvements.

Thanks,

Toku
