Question

Find ghost variable that is not assigned to elements

As seen in the picture Figma variables userd as 3 collections by the name tokens, alias then semantic.

Semantic variables have been assigned to element in design.

With the time being, and while using many designers, there are unused variables in each collection.

Is there a way to check them out, so we can safely remove from the collection/s.

Hello @SamST, Thank you for reaching out about this! I completely understand your situation.

I’ve looked into our resources, but haven’t found the exact solution yet. However, I did come across some plugins that can help you identify which variables are being used in a file or page:

Please check them out! Also, feel free to explore our community at https://www.figma.com/community on your own.

I hope this sheds some light on this. If any other community members have experienced similar situations and have insights or suggestions, please feel free to share.

Thank you,

Hi @SamST ,
did you manage to identify unused variables in your file in the meantime?
