Hi there! After the latest update, I can’t resize autolayouts and boxes anymore (see video).

The resize handle doesn’t become available - I can sometimes get the handle it if I am very very slow and patient. In the video I end up moving the box, not resizing it.

Pretty basic thing to be able to resize stuff! And pretty devastating! (I also still have occasional problems with zooming in with my MacBook Pro trackpad).

Has someone found a way to fix this? Is there a better way to report this bug?

Specs:

macOS Monterey 12.4

Figma Desktop App version 116.0.5

Mine is in Figma browser.

And just started yesterday or maybe the day before. No resizing arrows on anything, frames, shapes, components. Just the pointer.

At the same time, my eyedropper is gone. The colour selection circle is locked in the upper right corner and all I can use is the the pointer arrow. No eye dropper.

Both started this week.

Like many people here, I have refreshed, cleared cache, restarted, etc etc etc etc.

It is driving me nuts as well.

Hey all – like Toku, I’ve tried replicating this on my end, but I’m not able to. Resizing works fluidly.

Based on some other replies in the previous thread, it sounds like this could potentially be an issue that’s not related to Figma specifically.

Does anyone here have any other additional applications open when this is happening? Saw a couple of mentions of Adobe, but there could be other apps affecting as well.

Same thing for me, here’s a quick video showing the issue (can’t upload to the forum):

As you can see, the cursor change to the arrows for half a second before moving back to the normal state.

I’ve just updated Figma to the latest version, and restarted the app.

Thanks for the context, @Marcelo_Scharlau_Coelho!

So far, @BW1’s suggested solution above was the only way we could reproduce this issue. For us, this primarily occurs when you’re running other software in the background while trying to use Figma.

Are you running any other software when this occurs? If so, can you close all other software and let us know if that helps?

I restarted the computer and the problem is not happening anymore. Will try to check closing other software next time this issue happens and get back here.

‼️ Close all Adobe products‼️

When, i.e., the PS is opened, somehow, it disrupts Figma.

I guess we are lucky the purchase didn’t happen …

wow, that’s crazy but it’s true! Thanks for the solution.

Confirmed this works!

Amazing but when i closed adobe PS it solved the problem for me. wouldn’t have thought about this on my own so thanks!
