Prototyping: How to keep a common static background while changing the UI on screen?

Himadri

Hi everyone, I am fairly new to Figma and I am currently learning to prototype, and I’d like some help.

Please take a look at this basic prototype for reference - Figma

When I press the log entry button on the home screen, it navigates to the journal screen. For the interaction I’ve used ‘On tap > Navigate to [Slide in]’.

However, the bg image also slides in along with the text input UI which looks odd. I’d like the bg image to be excluded from the interactions, but still stay in place across all screens, while everything on top of it is interactive.

Any ideas on how I can do this?

Thanks.

Use a push animation and check the box that says “smart animate matching layers”
