Paint Bucket tool not applying fills or any property

I feel really dumb for asking this but I’m new to UI design and I recently starting using Figma.

I for the life of me cannot apply fill to a simple rectangle vector, or any vector at all. I create the vector, click on the paint bucket tool, and even get the blue dashes to appear over the vector but I can’t apply any color I choose.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Outdated answer: You can’t apply multiple colors to one vector object, if that’s what you are trying to do. You need to split it into different layers.

UPDATE: Now you can apply multiple fills to different vector regions. Select the region in the vector editing mode and change its color in the right panel (fill property).
