(Fixed) "You don't have access to this file"

Robin_Bascom

Hello!

I’m suddenly getting this error message when I try to work on a file. I’m a full/admin on a pro account.

Things I’ve tried:

  • Checking for updates → I’m all up to date.
  • Restarting Figma
  • Restarting my machine.
  • Accessing Figma in my browser

A couple of minutes ago, the “you do not have access to this file” bar appeared. I tried to restart the Figma app, log out and log back into my account, and also updated the version. after logging into the application, it worked for 1 minute and was blocked again. Projects are not displayed in different accounts, and you can’t go inside either.

I tried to log in with and without VPN — it didn’t help. I didn’t find a way to solve it here, they wrote that there was a bug, but how to get rid of it then?

Hey All, thank you for flagging and sorry for the frustration!

This is related to a service disruption we’re investigating: https://status.figma.com/

We’ll provide an update as soon as we can.

I have also just had this issue while working on a file. Is there a fix available from Figma please. This is quite urgent. Thank you.

Same here, “Recents” is also not loading at all and remaining in the skeleton loading state.

I suddenly got this problem for two files as well.
After [Reload All Tabs], one file works good but another is still blocked.
I’m admin, these are not shared files.

I’m having the same issue on all of my drafts (starter account).

Tried emailing but got an automated response condescendingly telling me they don’t provide direct support to non-paying users.

I have the same problem. I don’t have access to my Figma file, how is this possible?
