Variant inheriting main variant from nested component, not the edited component I built

I have a component for a dropdown with two variants (closed and open) and when I put that component into another component with another two variants (closed and open too) and in the open variant I edited the elements of the open dropdown, that doesn’t reflect when I put the variant in an artboard
